I read this when I was younger and remember loving it and and the whole set of "nursery crimes" books. I decided to re read it to see what my 11yr old self liked to read. Apparently I was into dark books.... which kinda explains the types of stories I like now.

Also, fun fact, I just learned that the author also wrote Ghost Writer (which I can see coming through in this book) and Eureeka's Castle, so he was responsible for a large part of my childhood entertainment.

A cheesy teen horror movie meets The Cable Guy meets School Ties.
Socially inept Martin blackmails fellow classmate Jack at a prestigious boarding school called Braddington. Jack and his girlfriend Jill come up with a plan to rid themselves of their geeky little problem as Martin becomes increasingly invasive.
I had low expectations for this one for whatever reason but was pleasantly surprised. Both the plot and characters were well crafted. A hidden gem among vintage YA horror.
