Connor's words sent Nita Windcroft's temper soaring. She didn'tneed a man glued to her side twenty-four hours a day. Especially a manlike Connor—one who was used to getting what he wanted…always.Besides, the threats were aimed at her farm, not at her body. But the former Ranger's persistence intrigued her. Driven, yetstrangely remote, he refused to be intimidated by her independentattitude. Worse, he politely turned down all of her suggestiveinvitations—which just enticed Nita more. Perhaps there was anenjoyable reason for having a round-the-clock protector.

The romance between the characters but the entire premise for getting them together was never resolved. Who's trying to take the farm? The reader never finds out. A reason is hinted at but the perpetrator is never revealed. I finished it but hate that I was left hanging.
I needed something with clock in the title for a reading challenge. This book was a fun, fast-paced read. Intriguing enough that I'll put the rest of the series on my TBR
Connor nor Nita were looking for love they just wanted to solve the mysteries happening around the ranch. Love found them in spite of Nita and Connor found purpose.
If your a romance reader, like I am, then I'm sure you'll enjoy this book. I really loved it although there seemed to be some slow parts in it the rest of it was very enjoyable. A great book to read when you just want to kick back for a few.
