One of the most important books to understanding life in the time of AIDS. A heart wrenching and candid story full of emotion. It made me laugh, it made me angry, but most of all it was invaluable in helping me understand the generation of gays before me.
The negatives (for me)- The shifting viewpoints are extremely hard to follow. You can tell the author is very well educated which makes it a little hard to read. Sometimes the book read kind of like a medical journal or article with suspense. Read for the history and to understand where we came from but accept that the story is very slow moving.
