I listened to the audio version of this book and probably would have given it a 3, but that was mostly the narrator. I like LeVar Burton's voice, but it didn't do this particular book any favors. Watching the documentary by the same name, I realized that the audio book distanced me emotionally. I'm adding a bonus star I think the book would have earned, had I read the print version.
Having said that, it is a well researched book with lots of insights, however the structural orginzation of the book didn't work for me. If you are at all interested in child development theory, add a star. Personally, I would have preferred this to be two separate books. One about the life and times of Mr. Rogers, and one about his search to use research to educate young children.
