Married on Mondays: A Novel

By day, Valerie Cooper, Dierdra Dawson, and Foxy Brown assist their husbands, all partners at the law firm Brown, Cooper, and Dawson. But at night, they become Vanilla Cream, Cherry Cream, and Sugar Cream, and run an upscale swingers club called Creamé. Their clientele include everyone from judges, lawyers, politicians, and police officers, to soccer moms and housewives. Business is booming at the hottest club in town. Until the police chief extends an indecent proposal to sleep with him, or go to jail. With the whole town standing behind Creamé (and not just because they all happen to be clients), the women must decide whether to stand together and fight, or risk losing their business.

So you have three sisters running a bakery, which is all just a cover up for a prostitution ring. You have one sister who is married to a cheating attorney, but feels betrayed about her husband's adultery, all the while servicing clients from the "bakery." Another sister, who is also married, manages to translate her overbearing Type A personality into a side career as a dominatrix. The third sister is a married, lesbian "virgin" who prides herself on never having intercourse, but services her customers with entry into her...uh, back door; she has someone stalking her due to his obsession of having the privilege of taking her virginity.

Needless to say, this Honey B novel, had a lot going on. Overall, the story was fast-paced, which is good. Unlike the other Honey B. novel I've read, there was more story/plot happening between the raunchy sex scenes. It was okay but I think I'll stick to the Mary B. Morrison line of novels, if I am going to ever pick up another one of her books again. I do enjoy her honest, in-your-face ways of putting things out there, but this wasn't my favorite novel of hers that I've read. I liked it better when she wrote "romance" rather than "erotica" because although the romances had several erotic scenes, I enjoyed the characters and the story lines a lot more.

This book was written by HoneyB, which is the pseudonym of Mary B. Morrison.

The three main characters are sisters Foxy, Deja, and Victoria, who run a pastry shop called Creme by day, and then service clients sexually at Creme Fantasyland by night. All three sisters are married to three partners in a law firm: Foxy to Winton, who no longer pays any attention to her and is having fun on the side; Deja to Acer; and Victoria the "virgin" to a woman, Naomi. Foxy is still sleeping with her ex-fiance Dallas and Victoria has still been with her ex-boyfriend, Rain, who is the chief of police and threatens to rape Victoria if she doesn't give him her virginity.

This book was a quick read (started it last night and finished this morning) mostly because I kept reading to see if something would happen. This book basically had no plot. The characters, especially Deja, were not really fleshed out. I wondered if maybe this were the second book in a series because I kept feeling like I was missing something. I wanted to read more about the sisters' adventures at Creme Fantasyland than with their own spouses. I couldn't care less about Winton and mistresses Isis and Nova Scotia.

I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars because it did keep me mildly entertained, although I was close to giving it 2 stars.

A quick, boring read. Unrealistic. I didn’t care for any of the sisters nor the storyline. The sex scenes did nothing for me & the writing just didn’t flow. I couldn’t recommend this one

Holy wow. This book was not what I expected at all and was nothing like anything I have ever encountered before.

It's a book that makes you think.

I'm not married, never been close to married and am not seriously considering marriage at the moment, so the book club questions at the end of the book didn't really get me thinking. This book didn't make me consider marriage and love and what those have to do with sex and lovers. I think this was the purpose of the book and it might make you think of these things.

Me, I wondered if there are actually PEOPLE like the characters in this book. And if there are, are they all involved with each other or are they more dispersed around normal, less dramatic folks? Is the way they act part of a culture that I am not at all aware of, or if it poor fiction.

Much of the behaviours in the book are unbelievable, and I can't figure out whether it's poor writing or if I am naive.

An interesting book, with interesting characters but the plot was a little lacking, and the set up of the book was sort of difficult to get through.

I would not choose this for my own book club read, because I don't think we would be able to talk about any themes in the book. The consensus would be that this is a book about 3 crazy bitches and the unhealthy relationships that fester around them, resulting in HEA that don't seem properly resolved.

Creme

Three lovely sisters, Déjà, Foxy, and Victoria, are daddy’s girls and live up to their names of Queen, Princess and Angel in the city of Crème. They are smart and business savvy with a side of freakiness. By day the ladies are owners of a very lucrative pastry shop; at night they are the undercover sole proprietors of Crème Fantasyland, where sexual fantasies become reality.

The divas are married to prestigious lawyers. But trouble in the home front is lurking two steps behind them as well as the chance of their night business being uncovered. Will the ladies be able to balance taking care of home and making fantasies come true without being revealed?

“Married on Mondays” was um…um… good! The erotica and the drama were on point and definitely will have your feathers ruffled. I felt like I was a bug on the wall in the midst of it all. Honey B brings it to you raw and uncut like no other.

I recieved this as a First Reads book. I had seen the author a couple of times, but never actually read her. Turns out HoneyB is the pen name of Mary B. Morrison. I've read Morrison in the past and enjoyed them. HoneyB's books remind me of a Zane novel. All about sex. Dirty sex. Definitely not what I was expecting. But then again, I'm not sure what I was really expecting.

The books was well written, I just didn't care so much about the characters. I didn't find them believable or the situations for that matter. The only thing that I did find believable were the sex scenes. And boy let me tell you, they were graphic. I felt that someone could see over my shoulder as I was reading.

I would give a 5 star for the sex but a 1 star for the content. So I compromised and gave the book a 3.

First of all, a HUGE thank you to GoodReads for a free copy! Always a lovely surprise!
If you're the least little bit prudish or "non-sexual", put this book down and quietly back away. It is full of good old fashioned sex, some new fashioned sex that I didn't know about (small-town country gal), and a lovely little forward written by Honey B. the author that I took notes on and then made my husband take notes on! l0l
It had a pretty decent storyline overall. Not your typical soft-porn where every other page was a quickie and lets move to a new position. There was a storyline and one that some people probably can identify with...but would never admit it.
Essentially, it reminded me of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and I don't know why. Not that I ever watch that show....much....

Three couples do everything together. They own a law firm together and they run a trendy swingers club. Switching partners is no big deal. At least, it wasn't a big deal until the police chief tells one of the women that if she doesn't sleep with him, he will haul her off to jail. There are only two options. Sleep with the officer and keep the business running or say no and risk losing all that they have worked for.

I love HoneyB. She brings her characters to life in ways that no other author can. Even if you know that something is about to happen, she throws in a slight curve ball to keep you on your toes.

I have to say I was a little disappointed with this book. It started out kind of slow for me, and for a while after a few chapters it started to get interesting when it started going from Winton's point of view, but then it fell off again. Some of the language was too much for me and I just didn't care for the story itself; it wasn't terribly realistic and some of the actual writing was unappealing. I really just kept reading it so I could get it over with. I hate to say it but I'll be really hesitant to get anything else from this author, as her last couple of books didn't really appeal to me much, either, for a lot of the same reasons.

Usually, when I read books, I'll be done within two days, three at max, but it was something about this book that made me dread reading. It took about two weeks for me to finish. As most of the reviewers have said, this book is definitely unrealistic (not faulting her for that), but it was hard for me to get into. I hated the way it ended and it seemed like there was no resolution to anything. The only character I actually liked was Winton and throughout the book he was protrayed as the bad guy, however, he seemed more real.

I love Mary B. Morrison's books, but as far as her erotica novels under Honey B., I will probably not be reading again.

I was sooo disappointed in this book!!! I just finished reading it, thank God!!! I have never read a bad book by Mary B Morrison, so I hink that's why I kept the faith that it would get better and finished the book. I don't know maybe Honey B is not a good as Mary. Throughout the book she sprinkles sex game, but that was nowhere near enough to make this a good story. It was unrealistically a bad story. Come on Mary, I don't kno if I want to finish the series now, none of the books were like this. Words can't express my disappointment. I almost just want to take a break on reading for a while after this read.

In this book the writers craft was point of view. This author told the story from all of the characters point of view titling each chapter with whomever was telling their side of the story. I believe this author did a great job using her craft because I was able to read so many different perspective of the story and although the author wrote all of the different characters part it still felt like each character was a whole new point of view. The strategies I could use to teach about writing is to show students how each character can be very distinct in their point of view but you can still tell one story.

Genre: Adult fiction

I received this book as a "First Reads" giveaway winner. I mostly enjoyed the book - it kept my attention, I wasn't bored. I liked the way it was written with multiple short chapters - makes it easier to find a "stopping place" when you put the book down. My biggest problem with it was that a couple of major conflicts wound up having solutions that were just too simplistic.

This book was amazing! I absolutely loved it. It made me think about how important sex is in a relationship and how sometimes in life things are better left unsaid. I recommend this book to readers with an open mind about sex and those who don't mind a little x-rated reading.

book was too sexually explicit for me, very graphic, lots about sex and woman's empowerment, did like the message about being a strong woman and being in touch with your sexualaity and the strong bond of sisters

Honey B!!! There was no reaction when their spouse's find out that there is more to their pastry business than cupcakes and sticky buns.

Interesting spin on infidelity and marriages. I am now seeing the difference between Mary Morrison and Honey B. I still like reading her books under both names. I like her introductions and the letters she writes afterwards.

This book was okay, not as good as her writing under Mary B. Morrison. I enjoyed the fact that the sisters worked out their issues with their mates, esp.. Foxy and Victoria. I' m not sure what to expect from the next 2 books by Honey B.

Started off as a slow read. The book empowers women to be independent but does the complete opposite at the same time, infidelity, prostitution, acceptance of adultery. Just when you've had enough of the story, it ends in a cliffhanger
