Answer Me This! ( ) is a weekly interactive comedy podcast, presented by Helen Zaltzman and Olly Mann. In each show Helen and Olly answer listener-submitted questions, as diverse and fantastical as "Why does golf bring out the worst in people?", "Who invented the scotch egg?" and "Why do all girls hate me?"In the Answer Me This! Question Compendium, Helen and Olly bring their trademark irreverence to the page for the first time in an inventive and witty spin on the classic Q&A format.Since its debut in January 2007, Answer Me This! has been chosen as an iTunes Podcast of the Year in 2008, and in 2009 became the first independently produced podcast to be nominated for a Sony Radio Academy Award. With listeners all over the world, and more than 1.5 million downloads per year, the show is now one of the most popular comedy podcasts in Britain.
Answer Me This is possibly my favourite podcast. I have (almost) all of the classic episodes, and the albums, and I even have the mug! I'm kind of a hard-core fan, so picking up the book was a no-brainer.
This is more of a coffee-table book rather than a "sit down and read it" book, which I knew going into it, and so I kind of just flicked through it, and read a few bits and pieces here and there.
As I'm such a hard-core fan though, the questions and answers within the book are things I've heard before, for the most part. There's some additional bits and pieces scattered throughout, but not much else.
Still. Enjoyed this a lot, glad I own a copy, and now I'll put it with the rest of the coffee-table books in the living room!
This is a book of a podcast so if you prefer using your eyes to your ears you’ll enjoy it, but if you like using your ears best it might not be for you. You don’t need to have heard the podcast to enjoy the book, basically questions have been submitted and Helen and Olly answer them (with assistance from Martin The Sound Man for the science questions). The topics it covers are varied and strange, some are practical, some are ethical, some are whimsical and some are deeply peculiar. QI fans will enjoy this book.
Love the podcast, the book was funny but not as hilarious as the podcast. I actually bought the book by accident when I was trying to figure out how much shipping would be from Amazon UK and then . . . "thank you for your order!" It was a happy accident as I enjoyed the book and was glad to support the podcast (which is free). It's a great bathroom book although sometimes your guests stay in there too long and you know (or hope) they are reading the book.
