I quite liked this book, but it was really sad. I hope I never have to see a proper war in my life time.

Typical drama of emotional/mental remorse set in a wartime period. If you're looking for action, then look for another book. Struggling through the mental what-ifs over this character's lifetime was almost an excruciating as reading Pride and Prejudice. No suspense or surprises. If you like reading about what-ifs over past mistakes, then this book is for you.

good story; like We Three or The Children's Hour, the story follows the result a false accusation has on the lives of the accused.

Would love to see the movie now. I think this is a book that would be good to re-read.
