Just an in general observation not about this book in particular
I have become so used to audio and e books that my carpal tunnel really only acts up at work, so that when I pick up a paper book regardless of thickness my wrists and hands scream for me to drop the book. I made it to 70 pages so not bad, but I think I’m getting old lol

A lot of things bothered me about this book. It kept me interested but the simple fact of the worst police work and legal action I've come to see yet. Murder should have been the charge I don't care how old they were. They killed a man plain and simple.
My opinion is that daphne killed him and Christopher simply snapped due to his already unstable mental disposition. Daphne is a cold hearted stupid bitch that will pay her dues at judgement day.
Christopher I hope you can scrape your life together and make something of yourself. I felt you were screwed and bullied into what transpired that night and that trial wasn't yours alone to bear. I know you carry that on your shoulders I couldn't possibly imagine what that's like.
As for the team of police and lawyers and especially the judge shame on you for what you let happen. I hope you kick yourselves in the ass everday thinking about it.
Lastly for the family of michael I've thought a lot about what could have went down. I don't condone at all the fact that he was involved with using alcohol with minors but that shouldn't have been served as a death sentence. I cried at the end of the book learning of your mothers death. Poor Maggie went through so much unneeded agony. My heart is with you and I pray that she has found peace being in heaven with michael looking down watching over you. Take care of yourselves as best you can and know that a lot of people are on your side.

This was good, not spectacular. The author does a great job of giving you a sense of the time and place where this happened, and some sense of who the people were -- but I was more baffled by the end of the story as to why any of it happened than I was at the beginning of the first page. It's one you'd re-read, partly because it's so gripping and partly because you want to see between the lines and try to make sense of it. This is a gory, horrible TC.

Well what can I say? The writing was not bad but the subject was not worth a whole book.
That sounds harsh and I do not mean the victim is not wroth it. Yes it was a very gruesome murder but those happen nearly every day alas.
It is sad that so many mistakes were made in this case. Normally if someone gets a plea bargain they have to testify against the person they committed the crime with.

Well, when she stopped repeating the description of the wounds endlessly, she thought explaining the ins and out of embalming would be interesting. So not the most credible account of this story. Hating to drop it altogether but it's looking a bit hopeless.

It started out good, but got repetitive. I also got bored with the over load of irrelevant details ( I.e. the entire chapter of how each NYC paper covered the crime). I made it to page 102 then gave up.

I thought it would be a more in-depth look into the twos upbring and historical happenings.
