This book is the worst book. I had to read it for school and I really hated it. It's super gross and the story is dumb. Bleh.

The amount of bullying in this book is ridiculous. It starts out as general ribbing and provides the protagonist, Tobias, something to deal with but then he literally gets duct taped and beat up in the woods by 3 classmates. The protagonist never tells on them. Instead the mean boys give him a comic book and bring the girl he likes to visit him in the hospital bed they put him in. And Tobias is more than ok with this because he gets the girl. Ugh! And he says he would put up with a hundred bullies just to have another summer at camp like this one.

Ridiculous.

I would not want my kids reading this. It sends the wrong message.
Bullying is not ok. And letting people get away with that kind of behavior is not ok.

However this book does deserve 2 stars for what it is. A good Short & Easy to practice German reading. The font is big and well spaced good for writing translations of new words. I really like the sentence structure of this series. It helps with some of the longer sentences with dependent clauses which can be sometimes difficult for us English speakers.

Meine Meinung:
