The Baskerville family had a myth that haunted them for ages. When it finally comes true, Sherlock Holmes must come to the rescue. The Baskerville myth of a dog that kills all descendants of the Baskervilles at night on the moor has haunted the family for ages. So, when Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead on the moor, everyone assumes it was the hound. Sir Henry, who is Sir Charles' nephew, comes and inherits the estate with Holmes closely watching.Holmes puts Sir Henry's life at stake at the end of the book, and they catch the culprit in the act. This book is an excellent read that would be the perfect story to read when you can't decide between a mystery and an adventure. Its all up to preference if you like these kinds of novels it wasn't for me.
This is a book that the girls chose from school. Sherlock is employed by a Baron to find out how his uncle truly died. He wants to find out the truth behind a curse that is supposed to be on his family. When they arrive there are some strange things happenings and more players than first thought. While Watson stayed with the Baron, Holmes was doing research of his own, but then comes to the area and hides from all so that he can do his own surveillance. They are able to save the Baron and bring to light some serious things.
Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles was an enjoyable mystery. However, there were some plot holes and the more Holmes I see/read the more I find him be be an annoying character and Watson a little too star struck.
