I was going through bins in my attic earlier and amongst the childhood favorites was this little gem. I remember buying this through the Scholastic Book Club in elementary school and loving it. I reread it this afternoon and it still held up as a fun adventure story for young children about a plucky little girl who enlists the help of a castle kitchen boy to rescue a unicorn. The cover artwork is beautiful and evocative of medieval Europe and the story is both exciting and has a fairy tale quality. The book also contains puzzles and activities throughout. Great classic children's book.

Too much modern lingo for the time period, the puzzles were a nice addition to break up the monotony, but this wasn't even a good book.
