Rate this book
Finding the stone… My Dearest Katherine, I know from time to time you will doubt the beauty, strength and courage that lies within you, but always know it is there. No matter how hard life strikes you, how many times it chips at the outer casing, inside is the heart of a diamond that has no flaw. Just like the stone you held in your hand was once covered by the ugliness of the world, see it now for what it truly is. Love for always,
Uncle Patty "Thank you, Uncle Patty," she whispered, "I’ll remember, I’ll always remember.

The first few pages into it, I almost put it down and selected something else to read. I just wasn't sure if it was the kind of book I was in the mood for; so glad I didn't! Lindsay Delagair has a way with words and it is very well told. She has been added to my list of authors to read!

Katie, the main character in the book, goes on a roller coaster ride with her life taking many unexpected ups, downs, twists, & turns. The key word being "unexpected". In most books, I have a general idea, at least, of how things will end up, but this was certainly the exception. In one chapter, I would be hoping for a particular outcome and in the next, I would be hoping for something completely different! There were so many characters that had me rooting for them. I had no idea how the story would end. I do have to say that I really liked Katie (most of the time), but my favorite character was Albert! I just haven't really experienced someone like him before. One minute you love him, the next you hate hime, & the next your very disappointed in him but still rooting for him.

Thinking about it now - this book was like a bunch of novellas about Katie all put together in one fairly long book & I loved it!

It always bothers me when there is a spelling error on hte first page of the book. It indicates poor editing. It was pretty good. I read it in a day.
