Liz always felt God beside her, but she never thought she would be in his passenger seat! In this humorous, heartfelt adventure story, God invites an ordinary woman to travel with him on a life-changing road trip. Along the way, they encounter fantastic beings, heavenly houses, and extraordinary communities that Liz could never have imagined. But this is no vacation. Liz soon realized there was a lot she didn't understand about God, the world, and her role as a Christian.

God has a lot to teach Liz, and underneath all the whimsy is a deeper spiritual message with real-life applications. Will she be able to comprehend all this new wisdom - and will she have the courage to accept the challenging mission God charges her with? Buckle up and join God and Liz on a journey of a lifetime.

I received The Road Trip compliments of Shelton Interactive for my honest review and found this an interesting way to explain all the concepts of a Christian life as a road trip taken with God. From what it means to be saved, to producing fruit in our lives to tithing, this is such a phenomenal book that does just that through the telling of a road trip God invites Liz on. As each story is told, the concept is explained along with scriptural references to those passages within the Bible.

My favorite chapter is probably It's the Pits. In it God takes Liz on her last stop on their road trip to the Kingdom of Its. We've all been there, no matter where we are at in life and we all think we are the rulers. Yet in reality they don't have one. See if you've heard these lines before, "Oh, what is it? Where can I get it? How much is it? I've gotta have it and I need it!" How many times do you go to the store for milk and bread only to come back with more than just milk and bread because you had to have something? Welcome to the Kingdom of Its!

God doesn't mind us acquiring its as long as they are what God wants for you in your life. Things that are pure, without requiring us to take out a second mortgage on our home or working a second job or putting in crazy hours just to pay for that 'it!' The reality is if you've ever wondered how Christian principles fit into your life and need a simple way of getting to the point, then this is the perfect book for you! This one rates a stellar 5 out of 5 stars!

My Thoughts: At first I couldn't decide if this book was fiction, non-fiction, autobiographical or a devotional. I couldn't decide what I thought of the book. Did I like it? Did I not like it? Did I want to keep reading or put it back on the bookshelf? I'm really glad that I decided to give this book a solid try. The Road Trip takes the reader on a wonderful journey to the Comfort Zone, to a fork in the road where you choose between Decisionville and Confusionville, and so many more stops (that would just ruin it if I mentioned).

As I said, I wasn't sure about this book at first. But sitting here writing this with my copy sitting next to me I have to laugh at the dog eared pages (something I never do to books, I usually try to just make a note somewhere else). But there were so many things I connected with. And as I walked out the door to work, or a doctor's appointment, or even to walk on the treadmill I grabbed the book, stuffed it in my bag and headed out the door. I took it everywhere and when I had a chance to sit and read I dove right in.

I was inspired. Inspired to take another look at my faith. To look inside myself. And my relationship with God. To remember that life is a road trip. That there are many stops along the way, but that I don't have to be the driver. There were lessons in the pages of this book I didn't realize I had learned, and didn't realized I still had to learn.

Would I Recommend This Book? I'm still not sure how I would classify this book and am so glad that that isn't my job. It's a bit of fiction, mixed with experiences from Ms. Crozier's life, along with material that would make for a wonderful devotion. It was an interesting book that was a easy read. As a youth group leader it's something I could see using with high schoolers because the writing is accessible. I would rate this book a 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

This is the first book I’ve read by Jo Lynn Crozier and it is a fantastic book. The Road Trip is a flight of the imagination. The first part of each chapter talks about the main character Liz taking a road trip with God. It is just amazing at the places they stop and the people they meet. In each chapter you learn the wrong way people do things, but God always explains and tells what we should do.
Here are a few of the chapters and what they are about: The Comfort Zone, where people are afraid to go out and try new things and keep themselves crippled, but they would be so much better if they just tried it. Another one was in the Gardens of Humanity which I loved a lot. This is talking about in some people lives they have joy, peace, love etc, because they let the lord in, which is a beautiful garden, full of flowers and beautiful things, but in other lives-gardens people have fear, hatred, gossip etc, which is ugly and full of scary, sad things.
Each place has whimsical characters that represent each of the problems many people face.
Each chapter is an adventure in the whimsical sense of the word and at the end of each chapter Jo Lynn gives certain Bible verses and gives an example of the meaning of the chapter. Each chapter has deep spiritual importance.
This book is very whimsical with deep insight that will be such a help to any Christian. I really love this book and will keep it for my bookshelf. I highly recommend this book for your reading enjoyment and learning abilities.

At first I really thought the idea of this book was rather stupid, but I kept reading and it only took a few more pages to discover that the message in this book were for me. I loved the way the author made the ideas easy to understand and yet relevant at the same time. Who are we and what does God want us to do with the things he has given us? Well read this book and you will have more than just those questions to think about.

My favorite chapter was the one on the Kingdom of ITS and how no one ruled there. Wow great things to think about and especially how we use are time. The chapter on the beehive and the activities we allow our mouth to go on…I have to say that this book spoke to me and I believe it will speak to you. I only gave the book 4 stars because it is very Christian and that may not be for everyone….but it was for me and I loved it and gave it a five star rating in my life.

I would suggest this book to anyone out there who needs something more….who doesn’t need more something?

The Road Trip was a delightful book reminiscent of The Shack by William Young. The main character (besides God) is Liz, who takes a ride with God on a motorcycle. Liz rides in the sidecar (kind of like our relationship with God right??), and God takes her on several "adventures." These adventures drive home key spiritual concepts like Financial Stewardship, Wisdom and Virtue, and Faith among others. The dialogue is fun and interesting but serious enough to let you know which points are being driven home.

Even though the tone of the book was very light, it really helped to clarify some spiritual truths. There were several Ah's and oh that's what that means (from me, not from the book). The scriptural references were right on and helpful. Make no mistake, this book is a Christian centered book and could easily be used as a devotional book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for the purpose of review. No compensation was received and the opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Oh and you want to meet Jo Lynn Crozier, or at least I do! I really hope it becomes possible since we are really just down the highway from each other. Okay 100 miles down but still that is just a couple of hours away and a glass of ice tea would be great to share with her. Why? Well she took me on an eye opening experience with "The Road Trip". Here I hoped on board with her for a road trip driven by God. With wit and whimsy eye opening experiences were pages away. Learning that we are to live this life in a realistic way. That we all fall into the ruts of the road but can step up and find a smoother gait when we choose to live a life that has purpose. And that there is always a time where we can make a pit stop to listen to what God has to share with us. I have to say it would be great to take time to take a real road trip while opening up my eyes and heart to all God has to share with me. Sure does get me out of the dumps when I do that just here in my own living room.

Liz wakes up one morning from an amazing dream. It involves a road trip with the Lord. He takes her to tons of different places that explain why people are in certain situations in life (financial straits, selfishness, greed, being too comfortable, etc.) and then He explains how to get out of them.

After each section of the dream, the author explains what that part of the dream meant to her and backs up her thoughts with Bible verses. I suppose you would call this an allegory of sorts.

I enjoyed this book. It seemed a bit silly at times and took a while to really get into. But the author's thoughts were insightful and thought provoking. Some might not care for the way the thoughts were presented. But I was able come away with some great thoughts, so liked it.

I received this book free of charge from Shelton Interactive in exchange for my honest opinion.

Although I don't agree with some of her "theology points" (if you can even call them that), her concepts and analogies were pretty cute (and super cheesy).

If you're looking for a cutesie, cheesy book that gives new perspective to certain aspects of the Christian lifestyle, this is for you (she does include scripture but don't expect to get super deep).

Also, although this wasn't my favorite book, I like the author's creativity and obedience to the Lord to even write this one. I'm excited to see any new books she comes out with.

I enjoyed this allegorical "self help" to getting closer to God. I found myself "guilty as charged" on many occasions -- okay, almost every occasion. But the lighthearted style of this writer made me laugh at my failings even as I found myself surprisingly motivated to change. Of course, I'll continue to fail, but it's nice to be reminded that I can lean on God because he has a plan -- that He wants from me "not my best, but His best." Pretty cool, really.

Quite a book. Imagine yourself on a roadtrip with God and he is the driver of the cycle and you are in the roadcar. He takes to you many spots and lets you figure out why you are there by example. He really wants you to know that he is always with you, just give him your troubles and let him take care of them instead of you telling him how to fix it. Which is my problem, I must learn to let go. I would suggest this book to everyone.

I liked the story in this little book, but not the preachy parts. In fact, after the first one I skipped them all. When I got the book, I was intrigued by the premise of going on a road trip with God, I was disappointed that the author felt she had to explain it to the reader. Someone said that it reminded them of "The Shack". Well, in my opinion it wasn't any where near as good.

The story is simple: Liz, the main character is invited by God to do a Road Trip on a sidecar and travel through different places and learn in the process. God invites an ordinary woman to travel with him on a life-changing road trip.

I enjoyed this book very much. It is a good read for any person of Faith, it would be a good book to read with youth or children to teach them about God and His live for us. It shows how things such hatred, lack of faith, gossip, gossip, etc can ruin the garden (human soul/heart).

I really enjoyed the way the chapters were set up - a story then real life application. it was a quick read that had a lot of meaning. This is the kind of book I think I will re-read periodically when I'm feeling out of touch with God.

This book is cute, but the analogies make the points clear. Her writing style reminds me slightly of Lewis's Screwtape Letters.
