Andi McConnell and her limousine are back! The occasion is the "wedding of the century" at a local estate, and Andi has a five-day, live-in gig transporting the wedding party and Hollywood guests. There's the groom with cell phone welded to his ear. The bride who suspects she'll be murdered at the ceremony. The over-the-hill, movie star stepmother with an ambitious agenda of her own, plus blackmail, betrayal, and enough hot hostility and competition to melt that life-sized sculpture of the bride and groom. And murder.Along with chasing down a killer, Andi is trying to figure out her relationship with God and testing the limits of her aging anatomy with a skateboard. Plus the complicationn of her relationship with Keegan 'Fitz" Fitzpatrick, the guy who is living proof that some men really do age like fine wine.Like most killers, this one objects to being brought to justice. Will Andi wind up with more bullet holes in her limo - or in her?
I loved the first book in this series and I was striaght on to the next book. So glad I did because I loved it just as much. I was slightly disappointed that the teenage sidekick from the first book had moved on but that didn't last long because Andi soon found another troubled teen needing her help and boy did she need help. I really liked the characters, especially the older skateboarding main character who is unusual for this genre of book but oh so works and is a breath of fresh air. The story moved along quickly holding the listeners attention throughout, even the occasional discussions about God weren't preachy and fitted in nicely with the story. I liked the reason and fact that everybody was stuck in the house with a killer, it made it more interesting all held in one place. The story took a number for twists and just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, it went in a different direction. Even the murder victim wasn't who you were expecting. An enjoyable listen and a series that I hopes continues. Andi is embracing her new job as a limousine driver and agrees to a five day live in job, being at the beck and call of any of the wedding guest at the wedding of the century. Even after meeting the demanding step-mother of the bride, can't put a dampener on things. It's only when the teenager bride turns up at her door claiming her step mother killed her father and she is next that Andi thinks saying 'yes' might have been a mistake. Surely there wouldn't be a murder at a wedding with all the extravagance planner that went into it, no to mention the rich and famous guests attending? The closer the big day gets and the more time Andi sends with the family the more Andi questions whose wedding is it and it maybe the bride is right. Then a problem with the smoke machine causes a problem and Andi finds herself investigating another murder. Can she catch the killer? Or will staying at the big house give the killer a chance to get Andi? I liked the narrator and hope it the author plans anymore books in the series that she sticks with this narrator, as I couldn't imagine anybody else doing a better job. Wedding of the Year and Murder, Great Clean Mystery
Parents- PG-PG13 - this is acceptable for preteens and up Language- none Violence- PG13- normal to genre, dead bodies but nothing very detailed Sexual Content- PG- alluded to relationships but no described interactions, flirtation but nothing really to warn of
So far this series, while better in order, I do think they can be read as a standalone. Andi just turned 60 and is getting her lemo company up and going when she lands a crazy large and extravagant wedding job - 5 full days of work toting rich family and friends around. The mystery starts off not with a bang but something more memorable to the senses. I enjoyed this one just as much as the first book. I loved how there is a Christian thread in these books and while book one wasn't very preachy, book two was a bit more on that side- not in an over preachy way but it's a bigger part of the story. Definitely recommend for those that like the clean cozy mystery and are maybe looking for a slightly more mature story.
Narrator- (3⭐) Pleasant voice, not the best differentiations, and the speaking speed felt a little slow but better at 1.25x speed.

Andi McConnell has a limo business, is excited about a job. A wedding of the century. It will mean Andi would be at her employer's beck and call of Michelle at any hour of the day. She can not complain as it will her biggest job to date. The bride to be Pam is sure her step-mother, Michelle, is responsible for her parents' deaths and wants to kill her as well. When Michelle is murdered while walking Pam up the aisle, Andi is leaving as she feels her limo services were no longer wanted. Andi is surprised when Pam askes her to stay and sees fear in her eyes. Andi agrees as she suspects that the killer is staying in the house with them. Andi must figure out who the killer is, before they strike again.
I don't have to wonder if it will be a great book, Lorena always supplies you another wonderful trip around the block. This series has been more than around the block, this one is around the world! In and out of grand places and palaces. I am never afraid to read one of her novels. Whether it's a romp through the town, or a scary mystery. She knows how to manage the path so you don't get lost. Enjoyable read all the way through the series!
This was an excellent second installment in this series! The mystery was well-thought out, keeping me guessing and interested the whole time. I loved the characters and especially the deepening of Andi’s faith. It felt very natural and real the way she is growing in her faith and taking halting steps at sharing it with others. The only disappointment for me was that I was expecting Joella and the baby to still be around and play a big role in this series. Not a deal-breaker but I missed them.
Ride along with Andi in the second of The Andi McConnell Mysteries as she transverses the lives of Pam and her stepmother Michelle as Michelle prepares for the wedding of weddings for Pam and fiance, Sterling. Andi has been hired on as chauffeur in her limo for a several day stint transporting guests to and from appointments and wherever else she is called on for. After spending time at the house, Andi doesn't understand why Pam wants to go through with this wedding as Pam doesn't seem to have any interest in the wedding plans. Most of the guests are friends of Michelle including a mostly has-been movie producer and his wife, and Michelle's business partners Uri and Cynthia who, together with her, are in the midst of opening a workout club, and others who can be wowed by this extravagant "show" of a wedding.
Michelle is barking out orders while workers set up and now the event is finally here. A mist machine spurting fog with a great stench, is a great cover for murder.
A fun story with Andi, Pam, and Shirley trying to uncover who the murderer is before a second murder occurs.
Lorena McCourtney knows how to weave a tale with numerous characters being in the spotlight as a "probable" murderer without running out of skeletons in the characters' proverbial closets. It seemed everyone was up to something and didn't want to get caught - but only one person had had the intention to commit murder.
This was engaging and played on my mind even when I was away from the book. I was continually trying to figure out who the murderer was and, just when I had it figured out, another skeleton came out of the closet, casting my suspicions elsewhere once again. What can I say? Lorena McCourtney's characters and stories have a way of messing with my mind.
Here Comes the Ride was humorous, at times, and had a wonderful Christian message about being able to trust God during the greatest, and worst, moments of our lives. It was filled with suspense. I couldn't wait to get to the end of the book but, now that I have, I want to read more.
Michelle Gibson hires middle-aged narrator, limo driver Andi, to provide transportation at her stepdaughter's lavish wedding. But Pam is an unhappy bride who distrusts Michelle and fears that her stepmother plans to murder her. When a body is found at the ceremony, Andi is part of a small group that stays on at the Gibson house. She can't help investigating the odd things that happen around her, any more than she can stop her new relationship with God.
I loved the first book in this series, so I was happy to find this sequel. I thought it was missing some of the charm of the first volume, but still enjoyable. I really got behind Pam, the girl who was framed for her stepmother's murder. Ms. McCourtney is great at creating interesting characters and weaving a great mystery.
Was attracted to this series when it first came out, but didn't read it until recently. As in the first book, I guessed "who dunnit" fairly early on, but only because it was the least likely person and it certainly didn't take away from the enjoyment of the story and the development of the characters and relationships.
love the author but have liked other series better than this one.
I will probably have to try the next book in this series to see if it is more the style of her other series. I didn't find this one as funny or as much of a mystery as the others.
