This book is overflowing spells, love, fights, vampires, werewolves, potions it's INCREDIBLE!!

I had a feeling this book would grasp my attention it had me captivated from the beginning.
You also meet some new characters which some you’ll like and some you won’t. Allison works at the book story with Darby. She is Darby’s right hand and Darby trusts her enough to let her run the store on her own. Dean is a werewolf who has his eyes set on Rowan and she likes him as well but, this is only because Blake decided to bail on Rowan when he found out she had turned into a werewolf since he was afraid of the werewolf line. Blake heads out to Colorado to get some help from Dean on how to see the good quality in werewolves. Dean does not like Blake and vise versa but, the guys let by gone be by gone and they end up as friends. Dean helps Blake get Rowan back.
Rachel & Sally are the last of the Keaton line they are sisters. They are both witches Rachel is a lot more powerful than Sally and she even casts spells against her sister in order to get her to do what she (Rachel) wants. In this case she needs Sally to kid nap 13 woman in order to get the ultimate powers. Rachel is also after the book of Shadows from the O’Rielly sisters (Darby & Rowan) she needs this book to complete the spell. Rachel casts a sleeping spell on the O’Rielly household meaning: anyone inside will be fast asleep! She does this because as I mentioned she needs to get the book of shadows. She manages to cast it on Darby & Harry (the cat) since no one else was home. Devon comes in after the fact and finds it a bit odd that Harry is not walking around as soon as he gets home (Harry normally does) but, he pays no attention to it. Rachel comes face to face with Devon when she sneaks into Darby’s bedroom to steal the book not realizing anyone was awake. They get into a scuffle he breaks Rachel’s necklace off her and she runs out the house with out the book.
Darby is informed by Devon the next morning on what had occurred. She sets off a plan to go against the sisters because by this time they have kidnapped Allison. So, they decide to give Rachel & Sally the spell so, they could get Allison back (even exchange kind of’ thing).
They end up at the mausoleum where the ceremony is taking place. Darby decides to project herself and Rachel feels she is being double crossed so she throws some kind of force towards Darby but, in an instant Devon takes Darby to the scene and places her real self at the scene since Rachel & Sally had felt a bit suspicious on how Darby did not react to the force. In reality Sally did not want to go through with the whole thing especially after finding out that the 13 girls would be killed for this transformation to happen. Sally never informed her sister Rachel about the fight and how Darby and the rest of the gang were going to stop it from happening.
Rachel was put away for a long time on charges for the vanishing of the 13 girls. Sally & Dean hit it off and they become a couple. Dean decides to move in to the house next door (Devon & Blake’s) and Devon and Blake move in the O’Rielly sister.

41/2 STARS

Ms. Tolles picked up Book 2 of her Series with the lives of Rowan & Blake, Darby & Devon. After fighting the evil hunters in the first book then rescuing Rowan, both couples find themselves coping with changes and heartache. Rowan is now a witch/werewolf and Blake isn't able to cope with this.

Blood Moon continues with the characters from Blood of a Werewolf. Everyone but Blake is heading back to the small town of Olijone, CA, tired but triumphant over the evil that stalked the vampire brothers. Rowan is heartbroken because of Blake's apparent defection. She is still coping with her new life as a werewolf. She enters her living room to find Blake waiting for her. He had filled the room with roses and has waited to apologize for his actions. But Rowan isn’t ready to accept his apology and Blake decides to leave town to give Rowan time to think and heal. He heads to Colorado to spend time with Dean (the werewolf) who is the brother of the slain man whose blood was injected into Rowan while she was kidnapped. Rowan had gone to Dean and asked for his help, to show her how to accept her werewolf half. Blake hopes Dean can help him overcome his prejudice against werewolves and show him what to expect of the new life Rowan will live.

Darby starts researching the O'Rielly family's book of spells and comes across family istory and a reference to a rival witch family that had existed in the early part of the 20th century in

Olijone. This family had tried to gain more power and kidnapped girls to use in a spell that would give it to them They were unsuccessful when the O'Rielly family stole the spell and hid it somewhere in the O'Reilly Book of Shadows.

Meanwhile two new girls arrive in town and are acting strangely. One of the girls keeps going to Darby's bookstore asking for her and then joins college classes to be near Rowan. Darby starts finding new clues in the spell book that leave everyone with more questions than answers. And girls are starting to disappear in nearby towns. Darby has to find answers fast when the two strange girls keep popping up -accidentally? into her life and the lives of the others.

My constructive thought was the conflict between Blake and Dean was glossed over. I thought more detail in how Blake makes up with Rowan and overcomes his prejudice against Dean and werewolves were needed. Both are serious and had very little detail devoted to how these issues were resolved. Blake and Dean do not have much empathy towards each other, especially since they had a vicious fight in book 1. They got over lifelong prejudices too quickly.

4 ½ stars for this book. The ending was one that was exciting, came together in such a way to make you want to cheer in for the heroes and make others want to see what you are reading.

Again I believe this series would interpret into a great show on television or at the movies. Bravo Ms. Tolles!

Blood Moon is the second book in a series. I haven’t read the first book, so it was hard to follow at first, but once I got the hang of who was who, it was a great read. The book focuses on Darby and Rowan, two sisters, and their friends. The main plot involves the disappearance of young woman, colliding with the arrival of two mysterious women in town. It’s up to Darby, Rowan and their friends to find out, and to stop the past from repeating themselves. But in between boy trouble and saving town, they have plenty of stuff on their plates.

Good writing, a solid plot, and an intriguing mix of old family lore, witches, werewolves and vampires. This book reads like an updated and improved version of Twilight. Much improved. I loved how the author managed to combine present and past, and blur the lines of history between both.

Rowan was my favorite character, although I loved Blake as well. And Devon. For some reason, I wasn’t so fond of Dean, and while I liked Darby most of the time, I much preferred Rowan. But hey, personal preferences.

An intriguing YA novel for everyone who likes witches, vampires and our furry friends.

Blood Moon is the second book in the Blood Series by T. Lynne Tolles. I was eager to read this novel because the ending of the first book, Blood of a Werewolf left me hanging. I could not wait to get back to Darby, Rowan, Blake and Devon. This book picked up right where the last book left off. Darby and Devon are as strong as ever but Blake and Rowan are still on the outs. Blake tries to get back into Rowan's good graces by going to see Dean Wolfe. While he's gone mysterious things start to happen. Girls are vanishing all over the place. Darby and Rowan uncover an ancient family feud and someone is after the Book of Shadows.
This is a great second book to the series. I love that T. Lynne Tolles gives us a deeper insight to the characters. Dean Wolfe is a great addition to the group. I'm so glad that we got to see more of him. I love his sense of humor. The story line in this novel was riddled in mystery. There is suspense and drama also. Once again I found myself reading this book in an afternoon. It's hard to put down. If you haven't read this series yet, what are you waiting for?

This story picks up where Blood of a Werewolf left off. Blake is coming to terms with Rowan’s new change and trying to accept what she has become. Darby realizes that there are women that are missing and is concerned as to what is happening. She stumbles upon something about a protection spell that is placed on their family book because someone evil is trying to get a spell that can cause damage. Dean comes to stay with them for a while and is there to get away and to help Rowan come to terms with her new ability. Do Rowan and Blake stand a chance to make amends with Dean there? Are Dean and Rowan going to be a couple since they have a common ground that no one else can touch or is there love somewhere for both of them in other places? The bond between Devon and Darby continues to grow. I loved the drawings at the end of the book so everyone got to see what the family did, it was a nice touch to an ending. Is Darby going to be able to save 13 girls from evil? Another wonderful story from Ms. Tolles.

I am an adult who loves reading YA fiction. I had high hopes for this series after I realized that the main character, Darby, is about my age.

Blood Moon reminds me of a more poorly written version of Twilight, except there are witches included in the werewolf/vampire mix. The main thing that bugged me about this book was the simplicity. While the plotline is somewhat unique, I felt like the main characters made plans and achieved them with very little difficulty. I would have liked to see them encounter a few bumps along the way.

Overall a quick and easy read, but I definitely found myself wanting a storyline that was a bit deeper.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.

Darby and Rowan continue to strengthen their powers and their relationships with the vampire brothers. As young women start to disappear from the surrounding towns, the wiccan sisters try to solve an old family mystery which involved another witch family during the 1800's. Amidst all of this, Rowam must come to terms with her werewolf transformations.

After all my griping bout the first book (Blood of a werewolf), I have got the hang of the author's style and I enjoyed Blood Moon much more. the superfluous narration continues but I had trouble putting this story down, and I am about to order the next. And looking forward to it!

T. Lynne Tolles does it again. I had read the first book about a month ago and couldn't wait to dive into this one. I am still in love with the original characters and got treated to even more information on them. I also met a few new ones. T. Lynne Tolles does an awesome job of keeping the story flowing and had me routing for the rag tag team of witches, vampires and werewolves. I enjoyed seeing the characters develop. I am onto book 3 in the series! Can't wait to see what is in store!

I like the characters and the mythology and the magic. What I think is lacking is time in editing. The storyline is good, but the writing needs some punching up. I would love to see what this writer could do if she had more time to spend on each book. In reading about the author and these stories, it seems like the ideas came fairly quickly to the writer and she cranked out these books fast. I'm on to book number 3!

This second book of the series was very good! More conflict, less, trivial details, good subplots. One thing different about this version of the paranormal genre is that it is definitely not so graphic and dark. ALMOST young adult material. Great fast read, likable characters.
