Giacomo Girolamo Casanova de Seingalt, a Venetian, authored book. People regard Histoire de ma vie ( Story of My Life ), his main book, part autobiography, as one most authentic source of the customs and norms of social life during the 18th century.

The book is called 'Henriette the unforgettable' and contains some stories from the 'big book'. While you might find similar compilations in other languages, this special one seemes to be only available in german.

Henriette was Casanovas great love in the Mini-Series Casanova with David Tennant. So when I found a book featuring that story I was delighted because I wanted to know how much was original and how much invented.
Let's say it so: the name is the same and he seemes to be very much into her...

It was an amusing thing to read. But those few stories have been enough, at the moment, because they are different but similar at the same time. So I think I got an good impression of his style and general content.

------

At his best with narrative as opposed to philosophical and religious discussion and argument.

Volumes 3 offer some of the most extraordinary episodes in Casanova's extraordinary life, including his liaison with the nun M. M.
