The authors, Francis Rumsey and Tim McCormick are both active musicians and engineers. Tim McCormick was formerly deputy head of sound at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. Francis Rumsey is Senior Lecturer on the world famous 'Tonmeister' degree course at the University of Surrey and is author of MIDI Systems and Control, and Audio Workstation Handbook. He is also co-author, with John Watkinson, of The Digital Interface Handbook.

Any time I can't remember one of my stereo mic patterns, this is where I go. Also explains mic pickup patterns, phasing, mixing consoles, digital sampling (and upsampling and downsampling), sound dampering and on and on and on.

Probably not 'done' with this one, its a good reference text.
