Simultaneously incredibly detailed for beginners (at least in the first few chapters...) and surprisingly short on quality information, especially regarding growing fruits and veggies inside. The book needed many, many more photos, ideally of each plant. Yes, you could Google each plant name for pictures, but at that point, you might as well just use the internet to do all of this research rather than reading a book...

If you're truly a beginner, you might have better luck contacting your local extension service or master gardeners association: they should be able to provide details tailored to your region. And are generally just good people to know for any houseplant/gardening questions.
