"Lovers and Liars" are filled with deceptions, lies, secret affairs, passion, revenge. It felt like i was watching a american soap opera. We watch the world of Hollywood, the hypocrisy, the ugliness and selfishness of it and i was deeply intruged by it.Afterall i knew what to expect before i opened this book. This is a very older book by Joyce and it seemed that she just wrote it for fun.I became obsessed over every page anyway.
Jack Ford is the typical hero of Joyce-Arrogant,irresistable sexy and a Hollywood star in this one.Every woman wants him and every man want to be him.His secret past just colored his character and his crave for revenge against the heroines father.Belinda Glassman are a famous writer and a very beautiful woman. She is also the first heroine i read about that are so selfish, flirty and so confident about her looks and sexuality.I mean, she is having an affair with different men married or not and feels no shame over it.She is a bitch that would have been a OW in another book.
Jack and Belinda are both selfish characters in their own way with an large EGO.So it was a surprise for me that i found myself enjoying reading about how these Anti characters fall madly in love with each other. The sexual tension threatens to undo them the second their eyes meet and that`s were their romance starts to bloom.I love the fact that Jack really fell in love with Belinda before he knew that she was the daughter of his enemy, but her rejection of him makes him angry of her and he decides to use her to avenge her father after he knows that she is Abe Glassmans daughter.I really enjoyed this book, and i loved it more after Jack and Belinda fell in love and how they both changed through their love towards each other and the end left me really satisfied.
LOVERS AND LIARS takes us into the privileged lifestyles of the rich and the rotten where a beautiful and independent heroine ends up having the hots for a bad boy turned actor with a past. True to form, the path to hooking up is one bumpy ride, but Joyce's account towards this destination is indeed a glossy, sexually-charged roman à clef that seduces from the first page and keeps on delivering. She evidently... http://sleaze-factor.blogspot.ca/2017...
This is not your typical romance. Because most romance are always perfect. Nothing ever happens to the heroine. This one has bit of a reality in it. Which some people don't like because most books are like a fantasy place to escape. I like how the heroine is no virgin but more like a player like hero , which is why it made their chemistry even hotter. Oh fucking damn!! That was one hot chemistry. I had to fan myself to cool down.😰🤤😍 I like that their lots of characters pov from the narrative. While narrator spoked about other characters, it made the hero's and heroine's meeting anticipating. It kept me on my toes! This book is so different than the others that Brenda joyce wrote. Brenda's heroine characters are mostly virgins and this one was unexpected but in the bad way. Jack is a Hollywood movie star that is player or the seductor always used to females falling for him and people kissing his ass. (Your typical cocky, arrogant star) Belinda is also the seductor or the female version of Jack.😎 (that's refreshing!) She got two guys panting after her. Adam and vince. She isn't kissing anyones ass including Jack's. When they first meet it's in a party and they are instantly attractive to each other. She knows who he is but doesn't want to stroke his ego by letting him know that she knows(he doesn't know who she is though) . Lol! And they decide to meet later to hook up but Belinda stoods him up which frustrates him. Hehehe!😈 it's funny. There's lots of sex so get your fans ready. It's really a good read and I'm glad that I read it. Some people might like this book and others would not. Also I like that Brenda joyce writes her books in sections. You by parts? I don't know why but i do. One more thing. They're some characters who do drugs. Which was kind of awkward for me at first (not use to it). The title goes with the story because there was a lot of lies and lovers having affairs. Would I recommende this to anyone? Yes I would. It's interesting. Funny. Exciting. Emotional. Erotic. (Very hot between the hero and heroine)
3.5 stars. I skimmed through at least 1/4 of the book — too many characters, too short attention span (mine). I did like both the h and the big H, and I would have loved the book had it had more focus on their interactions.
0 stars (only because we can't give below zero stars). DNF
Absolutely awful. I could not finish this one and I bitterly regret ever starting it. I usually like Brenda Joyce's erotic romances (have a soft spot for most of the de Warenne books),but this one should have stayed locked in her archives (if not in her bin)and should have never been published. The heroine is everything I intensely dislike in a heroine (and everything I intensely dislike reading in a romance book)and the hero is not much better. If you think perhaps there's some dirty sex to compensate for the dire plot, the flat dialogues and the terrible main characters, think again. It really is not worth it.
This is one crazy OTT Jerry Springer story! But if you are in the mood for crazy, this is the book. it's in the spirit of the 70's and 80's when everyone slept around.
Jack and Belinda
