John Pilkington wrote radio plays back in the 1980s before stepping things up a notch and scribbling down television scripts for the BCC. He then went onto write historical mystery novels for children.

A lovable hero, and a decent enough storyline. Enjoyable for the contrast between rural and city communities in the time period.

Thief was a great book that was a mystery and I enjoyed reading it a lot. It kept me reading because there were many mysteries that I wanted to know about. It was a good book and I recommend it.
