With Memorial Day looming and the grand opening of her new B&B here, Emma Gold finds herself in a furious race against time to finish her renovations. But with a developer intent on stopping her, the renovations going awry, upset guests, and a misunderstanding with her new boyfriend, Emma has to wonder: has she made the right life choice?

This was a sweet read but I didn’t feel invested in any of the characters and everything felt very rushed. 3.5 stars because I feel it could’ve been great and I’ll read this author again to see if this was just a one off.
Rolled right into this one from the first cozy romance in this contemporary series. Still fun, still light, still in California but on audio with a British accent. Just some minor editing errors other than that. Still an enjoyable and lasting read. Into Book 3 for someone who rarely sticks with a series. I just like the characters and the positive vibes.
Just One Chance is a great title for this story. I would suggest reading the first book in this series, Just One Kiss before this one, to know what happens first. Just One Kiss was so good I immediately bought book number two in the series. It is just as enjoyable as the first book. This story continues with Emma finding out some interesting news about her Mom and Dad that helped her understand better her Mom's situation. Emma continues the work to make the B&B ready to open. With the help from family and friends, the Bed and Breakfast gets it's first real guests. Although if something can go wrong it will, poor Emma has her hands full. Her soon to be ex, Troy shows up begging her to come back so he can save face. Emma's former best friend calls expecting to go back to being buddies, and a man shows up with a clip board in hand looking the property over -which leaves Emma with many unanswered questions. It seems with every foot forward Emma gets kicked backs good ten feet. Although there is a very handsome antiques shop owner Hudson who is also interested in Emma. In all of the problems Emma faces in this book, the author Sophie Love has written such a enjoyable , funny, what more could happen, love story set in the beautiful cliffs by the ocean of Northern California. I am anxious to order book number three, so I can see what happens next...Just One Kiss and Just One Chance are the first books of Sophie Love I had read but you can be sure I will be reading lots more of all of her series!!
This series is the perfect beach read, or listen in my case! The story was easy to jump back into without feeling like you were rereading the first book within the first chapters.
The narrator makes this book 10x better with her accent! One of my favourite audiobook series so far!
I personally found this book slow in the middle. Emma was a little dumb in this book, but the author found away to spin things around for a brilliant last quarter of the story. It was funny, romantic, and empowering! I love Emma’s family and friends and how they add to the story. When you have a story that continues over multiple books it really lets you flush out those secondary characters. And of course Hudson Ford is the perfect boyfriend, always kind and patient!
Can’t wait to listen to the third book! Let Emma open her bed and breakfast in peace already!!!
Yeah, I think this one is much better than the first one.
Although why does Pip act like a spoiled brat with all that mud? isn't she a grown woman, should be considerate of other people even if she wants them to enjoy mud as she does.
The ending is quite satisfying tho, the way she put Ed in his place and gotten her money back to apply for the rezoning.
Another fun book to read. I love the way Sophie Love writes. A story about Emma, an almost divorced woman that has come back to the area that she summered in for many years. She finds some secrets along the way. And Emma is trying to open a Bed & Breakfast, with some fun problems that pop up.
It's interesting that the author splits one characters story into the books in the series. For me personally, I prefer it if the main character story starts and ends with 1 book. There's also so much drama with everything that involves Emma. It certainly dampened my mood quite a bit.
Super cute. I'm starting to enjoy the series. Lots of development for quick reads. I'm slightly annoyed because this is a book that takes place in California. However, the audio book narrator is British. It's weird.
How refreshing to read a romance that does not concentrate on sex and porn, well written, with good language, and an interesting story, I'd love to read more from this author.
This was a good story about Emma the owner of a bed and breakfast and Hudson a blast from her past.it had humor and a wholesome love story. Definitely a good read.
This was a decent read. I really could not figure out how she could even cope with starting to date, while she was still married. This kept nagging me, so it took longer to read.
