Pediatric nursing's foremost text, Wong's Nursing Care of Infants and Children 7/e , returns in its seventh edition with all the qualities that have contributed to its great success. As always, readers can count on Wong's Nursing Care of Infants and Children 7/e to be highly accurate, thoroughly updated, comprehensive, and remarkably readable. The current organization and all of the popular features are retained in this seventh edition, and new features have been added to broaden its focus in the areas of community care and evidence-based practice. This new edition, packed with full color, many special features, and the most comprehensive package available, maintains the high standards established by previous editions.
This book has so much information and a lot of it is repeated over and over again. I am a current nursing student and this book makes it hard to pick out what is important and what is not. It has good information but reading the book does not help me learn the material for my class.
Detailed to the point where reading about the development stages was no longer absorbable. My instructor provided the ATI pediatrics book and it translated priority information into bullet points and tables instead of this....wall of text style textbook.
Wong's is referred to by academics as the gold standard for pediatric nursing for a reason. Sure, it can be a little daunting and dry at times (not to mention that it's a beast to carry around with you throughout the day!), but this text is simple, well-written, and focuses on key components of care. The illustrations are remarkable and "red alert" tips and family teaching boxes have so helped me identify the key concepts. A great text!
A really helpful book actually. FINALLY! A book that's written with useful information that I can use. YES YES YES! It was a good resource for explanation when I didn't understand the concepts covered in lecture.
Invaluable. It's always good to get practice with a lot of questions on the content that you're studying. especially when some of them end up on the actual tests that you take in class!
I wish there were a little less matching questions and a little more multiple choice. But that's okay too.
