After filing personal bankruptcy, Stephen Snyder grew frustrated with the lack of helpful information on how to recover from bankruptcy. In fact, most of the advice he found actually put people who file bankruptcy further behind in their recovery. It was no wonder it took most people many years to recover from bankruptcy. Stephen made it his passion to understand how credit scoring and the credit system works. After months of research and trial and error, Stephen put together a plan-of-action, and in only 8 months, fully recovered from his bankruptcy and had credit scores similar to those who had never filed before. He was approved for mainstream credit cards at low interest rates, a mortgage, bank loan, and even a new car. After his incredible and fast recovery, he compiled what he learned and began helping others who’d filed bankruptcy follow his plan. In 1995, he created the After Bankruptcy Foundation to show other people who have filed bankruptcy how to quickly recover. Through the foundation, Stephen has delivered free seminars for over 15 years in as many as 61 cities per year. Stephen is the author of Credit After Bankruptcy, the best-selling bankruptcy recovery book for over a decade, as well as 9 other books on recovering from bankruptcy and increasing credit scores. He also publishes the Life After Bankruptcy newsletter, the weekly online newsletter on how to recover from bankruptcy the right way. What makes Stephen unique is he is one of three personal finance experts in the country trained by FICO, the company that created the scores that credit reporting agencies use to calculate a consumer’s credit worthiness. FICO’s credit score is widely recognized as the industry standard for lenders.

Solid advice, but it is an older book. Some of the information is outdated but it at least steered me in the right direction!
