About the author

Jean Marzollo was an American children's author and illustrator best known for the I Spy series, a best-selling and award-winning collection written entirely in rhythm and rhyme and illustrated by Walter Wick. Over her career, she wrote more than 100 books for children, parents, and educators, including Help Me Learn Numbers 0-20, The Little Plant Doctor, and Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King. Born and raised in Connecticut, she graduated from the University of Connecticut and earned a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She taught high school English and later worked in educational publishing, serving for 20 years as editor of Scholastic’s Let’s Find Out Magazine. Later in life, she began illustrating her own books.

{My thoughts} – I have always been a huge fan of I Spy Books. This particular book is more Easter based and I feel it would make an excellent Easter Basket present for Children. I am always a fan of cute books and excellent gifts for children.

This little book is full of nice little rhymes on one page and then a picture of various objects on the next page. In this book there is mostly bunnies. I think that the bunnies could be slightly cuter. However, since the pictures are rather small it does make for a lot less space for things to be spread out and hidden within them.

I really like like how there are various objects spread out on each picture page. It gives the parent the opportunity to help teach children word and picture identification for many other objects on the pages. Many of the pictures are bright and very much appealing to children. My daughter really enjoyed having this book read to her, and pointing to all the objects and having me tell her what they were.

I recommend this book for young children. It helps them to learn word association. It helps them to increase their vocabulary. There are so many things that children can learn by having these books read to them.

I SPY LITTLE BUNNIES is a cute little look-and-find for young children. It's in a board book format. The pictures are simple enough for them to find. The theme of this one is bunnies and there are several to find throughout the book.

I love the foiled cover and thing it's a nice touch. This would be a good gift for Easter for those children who enjoy look-and-finds. My two-year-old had fun pointing them out. Since the pictures are small to fit the board book format, there aren't many items to find per page. I wish there were a little more, but overall it works for younger children.

Look-and-find books are a perfect way to challenge a child's mind. It engages them and gets the gears in their mind moving. The I SPY series has so many to choose from that it keeps things interesting.


Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of bunnies and look-and-find activity books.

These books are fun because they have a rhyming format and also challenges the reader to look for certain images/symbols in an arrangement of different items. This one specifically focuses on bunnies. In every scene they are asked to find two items, one being a bunny and the other being a random item such as a football, kite, apple, among others.

Another I Spy book. Fritz is a fan of these. This one, because of its size doesn't seem as good. The pictures are not large, therefore, it is more difficult to "hide" pictures in them. Because of that, finding the images is not difficult at all.

A board book seek and find that works more to build vocabulary using familiar objects and following a bunny theme as opposed to presenting a real challenge as the picture books series does. Great for sharing with toddlers.

LOL um well this was interesting! There are some creepy looking pics in this book!! My 2 year old loved the bunnies but said "ew" when we came across the pages with clowns on them lol and I have to agree, they were pretty creepy!
