Just didn’t ring true. I like some believability. Though enjoyable there are just a few things I felt were wrong with the overall plot. Felt Brett was selfish in many ways with all his decisions made for his benefit. I also wonder if he had been celibate over these six years. Leah was very accepting of everything, to the point it stopped being believable. Are these supposed baddies who will be watching her, not going to find it strange that she and her son just up and disappear from their settled lives right after the funeral. Also Micah does not seem to be with Bliss in this book but it is after his story. Read many years ago and rereading once again in the box set.
I read Desert Rose ( my review here ) and loved it-that was Book#1 in this series. More then Friends is Book#4 which should tell you something-these novels are definite stand alones. I do think I want to eventually read Books 2 and 3. Laura Taylor is an extremely gifted romance writer.
More Then Friends is definitely a romance worth reading--it will keep you wondering and hoping that Leah and Brett get back together. Never mind that he left her 6 years before because--well-he never did tell her the truth (and you will have to read it to believe it).
Leah was kidnapped and has no memory of anything-even of who she is--Brett, who feels guilty stays with her to protect her. Even with total memory loss Leah knows she wants and trusts Brett who is doing his dardest to stay as just friends. He didn't think that once she regained her memory she would ever love him again. Leah does not give up and as her memory slowly returns the only thing she is sure of is that she and Brett belong together. More Than Friends
I got this book as a present and I am sure glad I did. I loved it, just like I love all of Laura Taylor's books. The women in her books are all strong and independent thinkers and the men can handle any situation that pops up, are very hunky, but of course they do lack the guidance of a good women. I loved the plot line, it had plenty of action, some romance and likable characters, the only negative thing I have to say is that I wished the story was longer since I was not ready for the book to end. I can't wait for the next Laura Taylor book.
