I hadn’t realised this book was first written to accompany an exhibition of the same name. As such as an actual book to read on its own it wasn’t the most gripping. It is mainly a list of female suffrage activists with small bios under each name and black and white pictures of some of their work. Interspersed with key moments in the U.K. suffrage movement. I did learn a lot from the read. I had no idea of how many creatives contributed to the campaign. There were so many names I had never heard of. The arts truly can hold great power.
