As a fashionista and future rock star, California girl Mackenzie “Zee” Blue’s life is busy. Zee keeps in touch with all her friends with texts, IMs, and emails—and now, Bluetopia, the coolest social networking site ever! In Mixed Messages, fourth in the illustrated middle-grade Mackenzie Blue series, Zee and her friends from Brookdale Academy launch Bluetopia, a fab social media site—which is perfect, because Zee’s band, The Beans, is about to have its biggest show ever. Everyone is talking about it on Bluetopia. At least it would be perfect if a glitch in the Bluetopia system didn’t threaten to ruin the show—and Zee’s life! Tween fans of the Dork Diaries and Diary of a Wimpy Kid series will love the Mackenzie Blue books.
Tina Wells is the author of the best-selling tween fiction series Mackenzie Blue, and its spinoff series, The Zee Files. Tina lives on the East Coast but likes to travel and share her passion to encourage and uplift young people.
Mackenzie is back at her home with Ally, her best friend, and the rest of the Beans (her band). She not only finds out that her band gets to play at a festival, but also something in her family. While Jasper finishes figuring out Blutopia (similar to Facebook, but seems so much better and for a younger crowd), the "invites only" get carried away. Now, instead of just a couple of people on Blutopia, there are thousands from all over the world. Jasper has to deal with things he didn't have to before, while Zee is trying to figure out her true feelings for Landon.

Genre: Modern fiction, middle reader Cute story which is meant for middle girl readers. Very modern with all of today's technology so the reader can relate it to her own life. Easy to follow story. There are problems for the characters, but they overcome them and the reader feels involved and part of the story.
OMG! I loved this book sooooooo much! I never put this book down! Like Tina Wells' other Mackenzie Blue books they surprised me, but not as much as this one did. I hope Tina Wells makes more Mackenzie Blue books.
It teaches young girls about social media and entertainment for her and her friends to. It starts when jasper creates bluetopia and the friends must have to be able too see the future.
