The Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye: Alchemy and the End of Time
Decodes the message inscribed on the Great Cross of Hendaye in France
• Uses the work of 20th-century alchemist Fulcanelli to predict the date of the fatal season of the apocalypse
• Shows how periodic galactic alignments may cause catastrophes on Earth
• Examines how the secret of the center of the galaxy reveals the true location of the lost civilization of Atlantis
• Reveals the alchemical secret of the imperishable Light Body of ancient Egypt deep within our DNA
The Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye reveals one of Western occultism's deepest secrets: The alchemical transformation of base metal into gold is also the transformation of the current Iron Age into the Golden Age. Based on the work of the enigmatic 20th-century alchemist Fulcanelli, authors Weidner and Bridges show how the greatest alchemical secret is that of time itself and that coded into an obscure monument in southwestern France--the cross in the town square of Hendaye--is the imminent date of the apocalypse. The authors' explorations of this symbolism lead them from the cross of Hendaye to the western facade of the cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, the Pyrenees, ancient Egypt, and the secret origins of Atlantis in Peru, to reveal that we are indeed living in a "fatal season" and that this season is intimately connected to our solar system's alignment with the galactic center. The authors' in-depth examination of alchemy's connection with the coming end days also reveals that this astro-alchemical knowledge was part of the sacred science of the Egyptians and the Atlanteans, whose coded messages are, at last, deciphered to guide humanity to its future destiny.

Way too esoteric for me. Still, entertaining and thought-inducing.
Q:
At the heart of the alchemical mystery lies a secret. This is no ordinary secret, however, for it is that which cannot be told, the experience of gnosis. Ultimately, this inexplicable knowing cannot be conferred or taught in any ordinary manner, only incubated and gestated through a mysterious process known as initiation. This initiation can come in a number of ways, usually through someone who already knows, but occasionally it occurs by means of sacred texts and direct insight.
The alchemical gnosis has been transmitted from generation to generation, through thousands of years. (c)
Q:
So how can one incubate and gestate such an experience? The answer may lie in the word transmitted. Modern sociologists have begun to discuss the concept of memes, or complex idea groups—such as monotheism and democracy—that appear to have the ability to replicate themselves. Memes seem to have other properties as well, such as an unusual psychic component. The spread of Spiritualism in the nineteenth century is a superb example of a viral-like meme outbreak, and traces of Spiritualism’s meme can be found surviving into the New Age nineties, with its dolphin channeling and near-death experiences. Hollywood films such as The Sixth Sense are deeply influenced by Spiritualism’s perspective on the afterlife, conveying the meme directly and powerfully to millions of moviegoers.
It helps to think of the secret at the core of alchemy as a very special and sophisticated variety of meme. Like a spore or a seed, the meme has a protective shell that is also attractive to appropriate hosts. In the case of the alchemy meme, that shell is the seductive allure of the transmutation of base metal into gold. Even if one absorbs the outer shell of the alchemy meme, however, there is no guarantee that the inner core will blossom and the meme become active. For that to happen, a series of shocks or initiations is required. (c)

At noon the next day, the angel returns with the higher angel, who is called Amnael. This higher angel also finds Isis desirable and is willing to trade information. He reveals the mystery of his sign and then swears her to an oath. In this oath, we find echoes of the great mystery and one of the keys to its explication: “I conjure you in the name of Fire, of Water, of Air, and of the Earth; I conjure you in the name of the Heights of Heaven and the Depths of Earth’s Underworld; I conjure you in the name of Hermes and Anubis, the howling of Kerkoros and the guardian dragon; I conjure you in the name of the boat and its ferryman, Acharontos; and I conjure you in the name of the three necessities and the whip and the sword.”
After this strange oath, Isis is told never to reveal the secret to anyone but her son, Horus, her closest friend. The knowledge will make them one—as the knowledge has now made Isis and the angel one (c)

Fulcanelli revealed to all who could see that once there was a great and glorious tradition in Europe that rivaled the traditions of the East. This tradition understood and practiced the science of light, and this tradition understood how to communicate with the living spirit, or the intelligence, that lives inside matter. In no uncertain terms Fulcanelli reveals that the secret tradition of ancient “Freemasonry” is exactly the same, at its core, as the traditions of the East. Western culture dictated a different style of initiation and communication, however—one that was more active in nature and more scientific in outlook.
In 1926, that secret was about to be lost forever. If it hadn’t been for Fulcanelli and his book, it is possible that the true nature of this initiatory tradition would have disappeared in the West, perhaps never to be realized again. The shell of academic studies, and perhaps the isolated alchemist, might preserve the core of the meme like a spore, waiting for a riper moment to sprout again, but the living current would have died away. In many ways, Le Mystère is like a message in a bottle from the last adept, dropped on his way out in the hopes that someone might follow behind. (c)
Q:
But to attain this star birth in the bardo, or transition state, of Orion required first of all that the pharaoh understand the “number of the shrines of the secret chamber of the enclosure of Tehuti.” As we saw above, this numbering of shrines creates the throne of Osiris, the Pyramid complex, from which, as the soul star place, the pharaoh made the jump to a light body in Orion, becoming thereby a new Osiris. We can see this same function in the grand design of Samye chokor, with the exception that becoming a star body, and thereby leaving this plane entirely, is not part of its plan. Unlike the pharaoh, when Padmasmbhava became a “new Osiris” in a light-body state comparable perhaps to a living star, he did not leave for Orion. He stayed on to help the rest of us make the transition.
And this brings us to the point of our conclusion. Alchemy may in fact be as simple as: Changes in the nature of Light create changes in the Mind of nature. And the shift of the age in the sky signals a profound change in the nature of both Mind and Light. It was this sense of impending change, even catastrophic change, that drove the cathedral-building frenzy in the thirteenth century and eventually led to Fulcanelli’s message in a bottle, Le Mystère des cathédrales, in the twentieth century. (c)
Q:
Fulcanelli is not a person; he is a personification of the tradition, the lineage, as it emerged in the early twentieth century. Pierre Dujols wrote Le Mystère to sum up and preserve the teachings of the master, or masters, from whom he learned the tradition. He called himself Fulcanelli, which can be translated as “Vulcan’s children,” or Hephaistoi, or even Kabiroi, the divine blacksmiths who guard the secret of the stone that fell from heaven, to point to the current’s antiquity as well as, by various permutations and codes, some of the prominent members of the group around the original nineteenth-century “Fulcanelli,” Antoine d’Abbadie. Dwellings was pieced together from fragments of several works, some by Dujols based on d’Abbadie’s work and some by Canseliet and Champagne, but all written as part of that voice, that spokesman, for the tradition itself.
In the end, it is the voice of Fulcanelli’s message that proves more important than his identity. In that sense, the legend serves its purpose if, after we undertake the quest, we find the mysterious immortal adept inside ourselves. (c)

In our day, cant is spoken by the humble people, the poor, the despised, the rebels, calling for liberty and independence, the outlaws, the tramps and the wanderers. Cant is the cursed dialect, banned by high society, by the nobility (who are really so little noble), the well-fed and self-satisfied middle class, luxuriating in the ermine of their ignorance and fatuity. It remains the language of a minority of individuals living outside accepted laws, conventions, customs and etiquette. The term voyous (street-arabs) that is to say voyants (seers) is applied to them and the even more expressive term sons or children of the sun. Gothic art is in fact the art got or χοτ—the art of light or of spirit. (c)
Q:
The emerald tablet
In truth, without falsehood and most real: That which is above is like that which is below, to generate the miracles of the one thing. And as all things have been derived from that one, by the thought of that one, so all things are born from that one thing by adoption. The sun is its father, the moon its mother. Wind has carried it in its belly and the earth is its nurse. Here is the origin point of every perfection in the world. Its strength and power are absolute when changed into earth; separate the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross, gently and with great care. It ascends from the earth to the heavens, and descends again to the earth to receive the power of the superior and the inferior things. By this means, you will attain the glory of the world. And because of this, all darkness will flee from you. Within this is the power, the force of all forces. For it will overcome all subtle things and penetrate every solid thing. Thus was the universe created. From this will be, and will emerge, admirable adaptations. For this reason I am called Hermes Trismegistos, having three parts of the wisdom of the world. What I have said of the sun’s operation is accomplished. (c)

4**** for compiling lots of interesting information and historical facts in one book but as to the authors' conclusions...
“It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts” - (c) Sherlock Holmes

This was a gold mine of information of what Jesus, Mark and David thought and taught about the end of our world by fire would be like. It has all kinds of historical facts I myself have wonder about over Revolations my entire life.
It also has all the Biblical passages encluded throughout the dicussion that I was able to borrow from "The World Catalog !"
