I like that they called it a street sweeper just like we call it a street sweeper, and that they call it a garbage truck just like we call it a garbage truck.

I learned that a crane can be dangerous.

One of my favorite pages in the book was the one with all the fire trucks. Other favorites are the garbage truck and the street sweeper.

My Review: This is a great level 3 book in my opinion. It is a subject matter that will really attract young readers, even reluctant ones. It had a variety of equipment, not just constructions like you would imagine looking at the cover. Developing readers will be able to read this book on their own, there isn't a lot of new words for them if they are already fans of trucks.

This reissued version of a previous book has been updated with additional facts and is simply brimming with large photographs of big trucks. Not only do readers have a chance to learn about huge tractors that rely on computers, but they can see the difference in two types of tractor trailers--semis and open-bed trailers--and note the work that all of these vehicles perform. Today's highways and city streets are often filled with trucks, and it is useful to know more about what each one does. Perhaps most amazing of all is that tower crane that works high above the ground, performing jobs that I'd never be able to handle. Youngsters who are able to read on their own will certainly be fascinated by the photos and details provided in the text.

Reading this book to dubes was fun. He really enjoys his mommy's animated voices and hand movements. It even educated me because they're were at least 4 types of trucks I didn't even know!
