My First Dictionary: Corrupting Young Minds One Word at a Time

Rate this book
Blogger and librarian Ross Horsley delivers a wickedly satirical children’s dictionary for today’s warped bibliophile, comprised of sunny illustrations from a real 1940s kids’ book paired with irreverent—and often twisted—definitions. At once cute and darkly funny, Horsley’s My First Dictionary is perfect for fans of The Book of Bunny Suicides , Grandma’s Dead , The Three Martini Playdate , Cyanide & Happiness and Little Billy’s Letters —and will fast-track your inner child to becoming the corrupted youth you’ve always hoped for.

Kind of disgusted with myself for reading this. It's clever - I'll give you that, but I felt really gross reading it (from cover to cover - could not put it down). Horribly perverse dictionary of sorts illustrated with Dick and Jane-like scenarios. Book is actually very well executed. Like I said, mostly disgusted with myself.

Hilarious grown-up alphabet book. Would make a great gift for an "Oops! We're having a baby" shower.

This is not a book for children...or anyone with a positive outlook on life. Hilariously, it was written by a librarian...and yet this somehow doesn't surprise me.

The darkest humour from a depraved mind. I LOLed, I gasped, I worried about the author.
