Supposedly, Nathaniel Parker Willis, a friend of Edgar Allan Poe's and an influential editor, sent this to Poe and his wife as a Christmas present.

This excellent little book mostly examines the practical day-to-day life of marriage, as well as guidelines for couples thinking of marriage, and is written equally for both men and women. I would strongly recommend it to any Christian couple about to get married, and also to any young person looking for guidance on both what to look for in a future spouse, and also what marriage should look like for themselves.
