I love the premise of this book...CARE about what you teach, TEACH with your creativity and passion on display. Go 'bohemian', go underground...be a rebel. And then I remember...End of Instruction tests, benchmark tests, common assessments. Test prep...these have all sucked the life and joy out of teaching.

This book is a way to sneak some of that joy back. Some of the activities could easily fit in the English curriculum as ways to introduce and reinforce those pesky standards and objectives. Some of them are awesome ways to get to know our students, find out what really matters to them.

I wanted more...I'm just a greedy person by nature, I suppose. But what's there is very well organized and planned. Each lesson is self-contained, most with handouts, some with student models. That makes the book even more valuable for busy teachers who want to go bohemian but don't have the time.

This is a great new addition to my professional library.
