Yes, this has taken me a while to finish, but that's because of Life. During times when I couldn't get to this book, the title alone offered me a warm hug of empathy and encouragement. Lysa is always refreshingly honest and relatable, and my times with her on those morning when we've shared scripture and reflections have been full of edification, conviction, growth, and lots of humor. Personally, my life has taken some major dips during this season, so her examples have missed the depth mark for me every so often. That's ok, God's word has always been exactly what I've needed, and the lessons and applications have aligned perfectly with my personal challenges. Great devotional for all Moms in all seasons.
I started reading this book with a MOMs group that I was apart of, but we quickly found that it wasn't a great "group discussion" type of book. I did, however, treasure each chapter as I was going through it the last few months on my own. It seems like every time I picked it up, I had already thought and prayed about that particular issue or idea that the author was describing in her book. This was just a great book that had wonderful "words in season" for my life.
Um...hello!? This is SO my life right now! Lysa TerKeurst reminds moms of why they are truely put here on this earth while hysterically relating her "mom-mishaps" to mine. I love her voice throughout the book.
I like the format of this book for moms with young children - short chapters and a page or two of questions. Good for group or individual. Luda has a hospitable style that invites people in. She is a practical, Biblical writer.
I always love Lysa TerKeurst. She writes as if she's sitting there talking to you. I enjoyed this book. I was able to learn and think about a few things. I am thankful for the different suggestions and thoughts. I am looking forward to trying them out. I think that this is a wonderful Bible Study and I would recommend this book to other ladies.
I'm way past the mommy stage of life, so that might have affected my perspective, but Terkeurst is a great writer with lots of insightful things to say. Good book for those at the overwhelmed stage of parenthood (although those are the women who won't have time to read this)
I got a few good nuggets of wisdom from this book, but overall I think the author tries to cover so many topics that she's only able to scratch the surface of each.
