This book offers many helps to enrich your prayer time with Scripture from structured monthly or weekly outlines, to prayers at holidays and for specific topics. It is wonderful. I also really enjoyed the Legacy Standard Version.

4.5 - Overall great guide to praying scripture. I really liked the order of the prayers, it covers all areas pretty well. Recommend.

A couple complaints:
1. Sometimes repetitive. Some passages seemed to be used over and over, I feel like you could have found different prayers to use from the Bible (I’m all for repetition but just for the sake of the book find new passages)
2. Sometimes the translation into first person was clunky and didn’t make much sense.
3. Sometimes the prayers it tells you to focus on after reading the scripture doesn’t really relate to the passage.

Highly recommend this resource! I’ve been using this for daily prayer for 31 days, and it’s revolutionized my prayer life. Starting it over again this month.

I picked this one up because it was the September book of the month in our church's bookstore.

There isn't an actual plot or "storyline." So it's not necessarily something to read cover to cover. There's a section for praying scripture each day of the month, a section for each day of the week, prayers for Christian holiday and for various topics such as grief, health, strength, etc. I love the breadth of these sections.

I like the prayer model outlined in this handbook and came away wanting to find ways of incorporating it into my prayer life without it becoming rote.

If you're looking for ways to enhance your prayer life, I highly recommend this book.

This is a great way for your prayers to be directly in line with scripture. The book features a plan for praying Scripture for a month, as well as a plan for praying Scripture for a week. It also features prayers from church history, prayers for Christian holidays and prayers for the Christian life. The book does not promote mechanicalism in our prayers. Yet enables us to pray according to the words of Scripture. It also allows the reader to pause, reflect, and add your own thoughts to your prayers.

This book organizes different scripture passages into the ACTS method so you pray through scripture for adoration, confession, thanksgiving and prayer. I found this very helpful since I love utilizing the ACTS method and I love praying through scripture! This book combines both!! Some of the scripture wording is changed to be personalized, which I enjoyed. There are also prompts to pray your own words for each section. Overall I loved this book, and think it is a great tool to grow in praying well rounded, biblical prayers.

An effective tool for exercising you mind in prayer through meditation. I’ve already given away several copies. The difficulty with the book is the translation choice (a unique problem in the English speaking world), and the disciple to slowly read and pray. You will get out of this what you put in.
