Blood Bond #8

Death in Snake Creek

Rate this book
Young Matt Bodine and Sam Two Wolves became blood brothers on the day the rancher's son saved the half-breed's life, forging a bond no one could ever break. As years passed, a legend grew of the breed and the white man who rode together - and who could jerk killing iron with the best of them...Snake Creek is a shabby little Texas town ruled by a mean-tempered outlaw who fancies himself a king - King Petty. He and his gang do what they want, when they want, and right now what Petty wants is the pretty wife of a farmer he just shot in cold blood. But, Sam Two Wolves just can't stand by and watch as this King Petty drags the widow down the street, and before long, he and Matt find themselves in the fight of their lives. It's a fight they never meant to start - but they sure as hell are going to finish it.

2.5…maybe.
This is a tough one. The story alone would be great … in the hands of another writer. This has all the feel of an entertaining “Sunday movie” (so-called by me because my parents always watched the edited-for-TV Westerns on Sunday afternoons). The writing holds it back.

Good western but my least favorite book in the series so far. One thing I do not understand why the author seem to want to make a point of the brothers calling each other partners and other characters in the book calling them partners, not brothers. All the other books when someone asked for one of them they would say where is your brother, I have never heard them say partner. It just makes them seem not as close. But I did not care for the story itself, a 23-year-old self appointed “king“. I know all these books are out there but this one was a little too much. Had Mat Bodine saying is there possibly a spark with Lily even though it’s the same day that her husband was killed. One part I did like was that Indian history intimacy that Two Wolves shared with Clarissa.

THE FISH FRY

Lots of fighting both with gun and fists. Snake creek nice fishing hole, but watch out for the water moccasins who swarm on land and water. Horrible bullies who've have taken possession of an entire town. Rustling cattle, murdering innocent ranchers and town folk. Raping women just acting disrespectful and that's that.
The two brother's Sam Two Wolves and Matt Bodine who were just riding to no where in particular got involved with this one sided justice that was going on in Snake Creek.
Lots of action every page full you will not lack or become bored reading this adventure. So enjoy all you western readers...

Better editing but still problems.

The book was good but too short for william johnstone! No one could have all those snake bites and not die.
