About the author

Violet Blue has authored and edited over 40 books, including five (Bronze, Silver and Gold) IPPY award-winners, some of which are now in eight translations. Violet was a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show, when Ms. Winfrey featured Violet's book on women and pornography (11/17/09). That book is also excerpted and featured on Oprah Winfrey's website, as well as in O, The Oprah Magazine.

Violet owns and operates Digita Publications (digitapub.com), an indie digital publisher of e-books and audio books. Rather than a royalty system, Digita books share all sales with the authors fairly and transparently, featuring books in both DRM-free versions and for Kindle on Amazon.

Her online sexuality blog, Tiny Nibbles, is one of the Internet's longest-running sex blogs, and has won many accolades and awards. For her day job, Ms. Blue is a journalist on hacking, crime, cybersecurity, privacy, and at-risk populations for outlets ranging from Engadget to CNET, and occasionally outlets like CBS News, CNN and O the Oprah Magazine.

Some ridiculously hot stories in here, definitely taboo stuff (hot!),but primarily involved hetero married couples (as title indicates - so not big surprise just a note!), and some of the story themes became a bit repetitive by the end. However some really hot, taboo, delicious stories to be found. Wow.

I'll pretty much read anything that is edited by Violet Blue. I've never been disappointed and this was no exception. A great selection of steamy, sexy, taboo(depends on the person) short stories. Great date night material.

When I picked up Taboo: Forbidden Fantasies for Couples, I was pleased as Peonies that the et al in this book includes such well known usual suspects as Alison Tyler and M. Christian. These are just two of several names which have become the erotic literature equivalent of that stamp on the bottle that certifies the Champagne was made in, well, Champagne. This anthology also boasts stories by Dante Davidson and Thomas S. Roche just to name a couple. There are quite a few authors in Taboo that are new to me. New kinky authors are as titillating as new kinky lovers, and always welcome here.

I am still a bit stuck on the large print on the back of the book that says "Do try this at home." For the kinky, literary, adventurous; this book has everything. A fast vintage car complete with nervous swinging couples, a butch boyfriend longing to be a pantied and punished sissy maid and I certainly can't forget the medical sexual fantasy that involved traction. While I couldn't help but wonder how well some of these fantasies would play out in real life, it certainly wouldn't harm any consenting adult to try one or two, once or twice.

In all, Taboo was what I expected it to be, a naughtily decent book chock full of stories representing a respectable number of fetishes—something to suit every palate. If, that is, a married couple fucking their collegiate baby sitter can be called respectable. I wont lie, at least a few of these stories are tried and tried again, not containing much more than anyone could find in the latest erotic forum. But who says all porn has to be deep and meaningful? If I can call any one of them tried it would certainly stand to follow that at least a few would be true. And they are true enough to get even the most jaded smut connoisseur, (i.e. me), truly hot.
