EMT: Rescue!

Rate this book
For Emergency Medical Technicians, life is the biggest rush of all . . . .
A child suffers a seizure. A woman is beaten and abused. A driver is trapped in the twisted wreckage of an automobile accident. When tragedy strikes, the Emergency Medical Technicians are always the first to arrive on the scene -- bringing hope, comfort, and care to those for whom a split second can mean the difference between life and death.
Now EMT instructor Pat Ivey takes us into the hearts and minds of one volunteer rescue squad. These are the men and women who put themselves on the line in the face of overwhelming odds, who treat -- without reservation or bias -- the victims of shotgun blasts, psychotic episodes, and deadly diseases. Share in their courage, commitment, and compassion in this thrilling, heartbeat-by-heartbeat account of life on the cutting edge of emergency medicine.

Since I was a teenager, I've been interested in medicine, and in reading the stories of doctors, nurses and paramedics. Now that my own son is a paramedic, I'm doubly interested, and so proud of him! This book brings that work to the reader, so you can get an idea of the difficulty, of the heartbreak and the rewards of working in EMS.

I love anything with or related to mortuary science. This book covers what could happen before death.
