A cute book about Terri Bookman who owned K-Nine Treats, where she sells fresh baked, healthy dog treats and custom-made doggy coats and sweaters. She also volunteers to care for rescued puppies until they can be placed in good homes. Her shop was located at Riverside Development which was close to the river.
Carter Morris part owner of M&S Development Company, admires Terri's volunteer work, after helping her rescue some puppies from a fire, the two find themseleves in a budding relationship.
unknown to Terri , however, is Carter's part owmership of the mall where K-Nine is located. And when Carter learns of his company's plans to evict Terri, he is at odds about what to do. Bob Synder wanted to evict Terri because the agreement she wrote was misleading and the complaints of other shop owners at Riverside.. Bob told Carter the real reason was because he didn't like dogs. When he was 9 years old a dog attacked hm and he has scas from the attack.
Terri is distraught to find out the truth about Carter, and faced with eviction, she believes he is to blame for the situation. She can no longer trust him and the fragile bond between them is broken.
In order to keep her shop from beng closed down and having to move to a new locstion, Terri, her co-workers, and volunteers put together K-Nine Treats' First Annual Costumed-Pet Parade. Cats and dogs could participate in the parade wearing any costume their owners wanted them to wear. The parade was a hit. The newspaper covered the story.
Carter talked Bob into allowing Terri to stay in her current location with some renovations. The renovations included a front door entrance in the back of the shop and a window where kids, and adults too, can watch Tom bake doggy treats. Carter tells Terri he loves her and Teri tells Cartee she loves him too.
Four months later Carter shows Terri blueprints for an apartment in the new building at Riverside Two. He even added a room for Terri's four-legged babies that was insulated so the barking dogs won't bother the neighbors. Terri and Carter are making plans for the future.

I couldn't resist the cute puppies on the cover. It's a short read and very well written. Animal lovers will enjoy this book.

I wouldn't pay to buy this. It was not very good and didn't need more than one chapter to know what was happening. It was okay, but I wouldn't want to read it again or see a movie about it, that's for sure.
