I'm happy to share with you my latest book (written with Connally Gillam). It's called ...And Yet Undaunted: Embraced by the Goodness of God in the Chaos of Life. I think you'll find it a fresh take on God's goodness when life look anything but that, so to speak. Some of you know I wrote Strong Women, Soft Hearts and Sex and the Soul of a Woman. I'm a counselor and speaker living in Raleigh, North Carolina, but really, my first love is writing and books.
I think you'll find this latest book, especially, describes the life you are living....and the hope on the horizon you can see, however faintly at times.

Oh Paula. Paula, Paula, Paula. I hope you read this, because 23 years after this book came out, it has changed my life. And I don't mean that to be hyperbolic. After I read Strong Women, Soft Hearts: A Woman's Guide to Cultivating a Wise Heart and a Passionate Life, I decided that I just had to read anything Paula Rinehart wrote, starting with this beautiful out-of-print book. I was not disappointed - there were times reading it where tears just poured out of my eyes.

Let's talk about the strengths of this book:
The author is an incredible writer, poetic and powerful at the same time. There are entire pages in this book I have highlighted because they are put so beautifully. Some books I read don't have a lot of "meat" to them, even though they may be written beautifully. This is not one of them. Not only is it beautiful, it is deep. It will make you think about every word she's writing and how it applies to your life.

I am going to assume if you're looking at this book you probably have a tendency to be a driven, purposeful woman who struggles with doing too much. You need to hop on Amazon and buy a used copy. Now.

Let's say, though, that you're a woman who doesn't feel like you have your act together enough to be described like that. I still think you should read it, and here's why: you need to dig into the "why" of everything you do, and Paula asks the questions that will give you a shovel. In particular she writes a few chapters that have to do with how we are raised by our mothers, and how that impacts us as adults. I have a good relationship with my mom and I don't have a ton of dysfunction there, but even still it was very useful to read - either your relationship with your mom has impacted you in these ways OR you will know mothers whose hearts and lives will impact their daughters OR YOU will be a mom and need to let God into your mess so you don't screw up your own kids.

I loved this book so much I suggested it to 3 people and bought 4 used copies to give away as the Holy Spirit leads. Paula Rinehart is a good gift to the body of Christ. Read it.
