This book has a great storyline! It is "An I Can Read Book" which I assume not to be the best story plots! This book is about a hotel cat who was having a famous chicken stay at his hotel that owned a lot of jewelry. When the celebrity lost her ruby, Buzby the cat found it and his hotel became the best in the world. As a reward he got milk every morning at the hotel. I think this book had a hidden message about how helping people can go a long way. The illustrations are bright and vibrant which would most definitely catch the reader's eye.

Buzby is a cat that works at a hotel. He is trying very hard to make sure all of the clients are enjoying their stay. There is a whole series about Buzby. It’s a cute, fun little story about him working hard at his job. I really like the layout of illustrations to words on each page as well.

Brief Book Summary: Buzby is a hotel cat and works at a hotel were a very famous celebrity was going to stay. When she arrived at the hotel, she treated Buzby very badly and called him the wrong name. Professional Recommendation/Review #1:
Children's Literature - Jessy Deutsch
Who wouldn't love Busby, the "best hotel cat in the world." As readers "check-in" to Buzby's hotel, they'll join an adventure in alliterative language, and an engaging chase for a supposedly stolen royal ruby. Detective readers will find Buzby's adventure a deliciously lovable, fast-moving and funny tale. 1995 (orig.

Although he has graduated from his job in a restaurant, which he got in "Buzby" (1990), and has become a hotel door cat, Buzby has managed to keep his easygoing disposition--even in the face of forgetful hotel guests like Miss Lovejoy. But his cat fur does get ruffled when he mistakes a pair of autograph hunters for thieves out to steal Miss Lovejoy's precious jewels. Fetching watercolors give Buzby plenty of sweet personality, and the straightforward story makes the most out of its simple premise by including a slapstick chase that kids will love.
Response to Two Professional Reviews: These reviews both continuously point out the lovableness in Buzby, who is an all-around, adorable character. I like that they also mentions how much fun children will have being detectives; children will want to keep turning the page to find out who the burglar is. The reviews also point out the great illustrations, which I hadn’t really taken time to notice before.
Evaluation of Literary Elements: The plot of Buzby is so innocent and fun, yet it will have children wanting to keep reading. It’s an easy read that even very young children could read and fully understand. The cute illustrations are small, but they definitely help the story pop, and they show so much emotion on the faces of the characters.
Consideration of Instructional Application: I would use this book as an independent read for K-1st grade. This is definitely a book that children will be able to understand on their own, especially with the help of the pictures. I would have students come up with their own mystery, maybe in pairs for more help, and have them illustrate these mysteries.
