Cam Simpson has been going out with Dean for six years. It's a comfortable, cosy life and Dean is everything she could possibly want - dependable, manly and generous. Or he once was. He seems more interested in football than her these days and, if she dared to admit it, their relationship has become a little predictable. But isn't that what happens when you've been with someone for that long? Deciding all she needs is a holiday with the girls she sets off for Tenerife with her two best friends. Almost immediately she meets single-father Tom and rather disturbingly feels that lost spark ignite. But blaming the sun, sea and sangria, she returns home ready to recapture what she and Dean once had. Until one morning, over the radio, Cam hears 'Tom has written in to the show. He came back from holiday in Tenerife a couple of weeks ago and wants to trace a lovely woman he met there. The woman's name is Cam'. With the man she's decided to commit herself to sitting right there beside her, Cam knows she can't brush this one under the carpet. And she is forced to finally ask herself the crucial should she settle for Mr Good Enough or risk it all for Mr Maybe He's The One?

I read so many crime fiction books that some times I just need a light different read. I really loved reading Love is On the Air, by Jane Moore. I would definitely read more of her books.

Cam Simpson has been with her boyfriend Dean for 6 years she works as a Hairdresser and she feels less than satisfied with her life, Dean doesn’t do anything around the house to help he just sits and watches the TV, day and night.
Cam goes away on Holiday to Tenerife with her friends, while she is away she meets Tom a single Dad from Birmingham, after a lot of Alcohol one thing leads to another and she wakes up in Tom’s bed, the next day she is full of guilt and is relieved to know that Tom had gone home.
A few weeks later she has put Tom out of her mind until one morning her and Dean are listening to the radio and they hear a “Where are they now” request, does she come clean to Dean about her feelings or continue living a lie.
I enjoyed this book, I couldn’t put it down it was very easy to read, I felt a bit sorry for Cam as Dean showed her little attention and he was very lazy, however I did feel sorry for Dean as Cam was unfaithful to him.
A great book I would definitely recommend

I surprisingly enjoyed this book, I'm not a massive chicklit fan but this was well written with likeable characters.
Cam is in a 6 year relationship with Dean & is feeling a little bored, on a girls fun holiday to Tenerife Cam meets Tom & it ignites something in her & she starts to think whether Dean really is the man for her, so its time to re evaluate her life & make some big decisions...
A vey pleasant read, great holiday book.

I loved this book. During the covid time where life looks bleak this lifted my spirit. The characters in the book are ordinary people with problems the readers can relate to. The lessons that I learned are:you are allowed to pick and choose the right person for you. Don't go for Mr Present to have somebody.Never be satisfied with second best. Cam's mother said you hold the key. ill feelings towards somebody, anger can only affect you if you let them steal your key.

this was not my type of novel , I get it, waiting for true love is exhausting, maybe, but when you are already with someone for 6 years, you shouldn't be looking at someone else, at least break up with the person first. I felt dean's crash out was valid cause what do you when someone whom you have been with for 6 years suddenly tells that they're not in love with you? I understand that the relationship has gone predicable but still they should have communicated first.

Cam Simpson’s life is pretty steady. She’s been in a good relationship with boyfriend Dean for 7 years, but they seem to have settled into a pattern of drudgery and boredom. He’s happy to sit and watch the football or CSI for hours on end, but Cam is fed up – she doesn’t want to be sat around waiting for him, she wants fun and excitement. She and her 2 best friends Ella and Saira take a girls-only holiday, and by chance bump into a couple of British guys, Tom and his mate Jake. Cam doesn’t expect anything to come of it, but when she returns, she hears a radio message that turns her world upside-down. Suddenly, Cam begins to doubt everything about her life, but especially her relationship with Dean. But can she hurt the man who has been with her for 7 years? Which decision will Cam make, and will it be the right one?

I love Jane Moore’s novels and have read everything that she has written so far, so I was pleased to find out Jane was back this year with a new book as it’s been a couple of years since her last, Perfect Match. The cover of this jumped out at me immediately – it’s lovely and bright and summery, certainly making a change from all of the wintery books we are seeing around at the moment, and it made me want to pick it up and devour it straight away. Jane’s last book was a very serious one about a couple making a child to save the life of another, so it seemed like this book was going to be a lot more light-hearted, albeit still about a serious subject, so I sat down, eager to read more.

We meet our leading lady Cam when she is at work as a hairdresser, talking to her clients. I have to say I warmed to Cam straight away, she is quite a normal character that you could imagine yourself knowing. She feels somewhat trapped in her relationship with boyfriend Dean, having been with him a long time and now the pair are settled and not spontaneous, Cam can’t help but wonder if there isn’t more out there for her. Cam’s relationship with her friends, Saira and Ella is important to her and we see this develop throughout the book, especially as the other ladies have their own stories going on through the book. The 3 women go on holiday and Cam ends up meeting a stranger, a man called Tom who she immediately strikes up a friendship with. This is the beginning of all sorts of problems for Cam, and where our book really picks up.

Straight away what I wondered about this book was whether it was going to be pretty standard chick lit style story-telling, girl meets boy, girl leaves boyfriend to be with boy, and all live happily ever after. Whilst I won’t spoil the ending for you (obviously!), suffice to say it is slightly predictable but Moore tells the tale in such a way you just don’t know throughout the book which way Cam is going to turn. It certainly makes you question what you would do if you were in Cam’s situation, and perhaps it’s a nod to the age-old “seven year itch”, where people seem keen to dive out of relationships when things become a bit “dull” and predictable, and you’re well and truly out of the honeymoon phase. It’s perhaps very applicable these days, and I was curious to see who Moore would side with, and who I would actually end up siding with myself!

I had a bit of a problem with Cam’s character though. Although she didn’t really do anything overly bad throughout the book, there was still something about the way she dealt with Dean which felt a little bit off to me. I did feel sorry for Dean sometimes, even though he was a bit of a lazy pig, but felt Moore dealt quite evenly with both, giving them both their faults and making the reader in two minds about the situation. Ella’s story was also an interesting one, Ella being a married man’s mistress and seemingly happy as such. I really couldn’t warm to her character because of this, yet the other friend in the book, Saira, was the complete opposite, happily married with a child. It’s almost like Moore wanted to ensure all females were represented in the book, whether good or bad.

This book was an enjoyable read, and certainly makes you think of all the different relationships people have, and how people’s decisions can change another person’s life in a huge way as well. Cam has some huge decisions to make throughout the book, and it is interesting to read how she deals with the various situations that arise, and how her friends view her actions as well. The relationship between Cam and her mother was also a good side-story in the book, and certainly made me appreciate the good relationship I have with my own mother! Moore tries to cover many issues within the book, and I think she does them very well. I was always keen to pick this book up, and enjoyed the many ups and downs along the way, as questionable as some of them were! Recommended – it’s not all light and fluffy like the cover may make you think!

So since my reviews lack the structure that they need I thought I ought to do something about it so this is my first structured review:

Her name is Cam or rather Camomile Simpson as I prefer. She seems to hate her name for her uniqueness, contrastingly I'd like LOVE a name like that. It's original. Just like tea. (:
Love is on the air is probably not the best book I've read and I'd have only rate it 3 stars if the ending wasn't so good. I thought it deserved an extra star for that when
I love Daniel. The cutest boy ever, but moving on from this. I hate Dean. I mean he sounds like a dinosaur. Deanoo the Dinosaur He's on the verge of extinction if he doesn't watch out.

Best Moments
When Tom speaks out on radio to find his true love, dearest Camomile.
When Camomiles Mother gives Phillip (Ella's married boyfriend) a piece of her mind. Boy that is funny.
When Camomile and Deano the Dinosaur go wedding shopping, I must say I think that's the happiest I've read of both Camomile and Dean in their relationship.
When Tom makes Camomile exactly how Deano can't make her feel, commenting on how pretty she is although it's funny Camomile wakes up in the morning nude with Tom by her side. Apparently, Tom claims nothing happened but he does say he got a good look at her, up and down, and all the way around. How very nice to know.
Friendship igniting between Camomiles mum and Ava (Camomiles dads second wife) , how very conveniant to meet on James and Jenny's wedding. Might I add James is quite the handsome bloke.

As a whole, this book wasn't as I say a piece of chocolate cake, it was okayish but like I said before the ending was the one of the best I've ever read.

But is the grass greener elsewhere? Well you'll never know if you don't look around.

This is a story about Cam (short for Camomile) who is in a boring relationship with her live in boyfriend of six years, Dean. She goes off on a short trip with her girlfriends and meets Tom, someone with whom she instantly feels attracted to. The story is more about her inner journey on what she should do with her current relationship than it is about a summer romance. While it was an ok summer read, I've definitely read chick lit with more depth and better story lines. While it was a quick read I didn't find myself rushing to pick up the book and finish it.

Is the grass really Greener... ?

... Love is on the Air, such a lovely heart warming book, brilliantly written by Jane Moore. Throughout the book Cam goes through one of life's biggest rollercoasters of love. Whether she is in love, out of love or in turmoil Cam has a big question that needs answering, after a lovely holiday in Tenerife which is supposed to be a 'girls holiday'. She instead meets a man full of excitement and passion but what happens when the both exit each others lives is surprising.

When my mum first told me o read this book I was unsure and from reading the first couple of chapters I was still unsure whether I was going to like this book. However the love story started to draw me in, and soon I couldn't put it down. A lovely read with a lovely summer vibe. This book is a love story with a lovely ending.
