'Colourful, smart and glossy, this is a must for any SATC fab - the perfect souvenir' Heat Magazine
Though I think the makers/ authors tried to do something new with this one as it focuses more on the fashion of the movie more than on the locations and the scenes.
The first thing I have to say about this book is that it is absolutely gorgeous!!! It has got a lovely padded cover and has pages and pages of beautiful pictures of the locations in which the film is set. Although this is not normally the type of book that I would go out to buy, I was so pleased when it came through my letterbox because a book this gorgeous would be a welcome addition to any woman’s bookshelf.
Once I stopped drooling over the cover and actually opened the book I wasn’t disappointed with the contents either. Being a huge Sex and the City fan it was incredibly interesting hearing about how the film was made and reading interviews with the cast members. But my favourite section of the book would have to be the fashion section. This is a huge section of the book dedicated to showing off all of the outfits worn by the girls during the film. As can be expected from Sex and the City, the outfits are stunning and the pictures made me incredibly jealous (although it does say which designer produced each part of each outfit, so you could recreate the looks for yourself if you have a lot of spare cash laying around!).
I would definitely recommend this book to any Sex and the City fans out there – it is a fun and beautiful book that gives a great insight into the making of what I hope will be a brilliant film.
I feel like 100% more effort went into this Movie book, unlike the last one, this book includes interviews and a much more in depth look at the locations and the fashion.
And yes I actually loved this film, I know it gets lots of hate and I'm not sure why! Perfect for Sex and the City fans!
The companion to the second movie, this book has great depth on how the costumes + locations came to be chosen for the story. I liked seeing the concept art, and the conversations that would be had about the differences in each character and how to show that through makeup + costume.
Another fab book, full of super glossy photos, memories of the film & all the amazing clothes the ladies wore. You find out all the little hidden tweaks that were made for sets etc 👗👛👜🛍️📿💄👒👡👠
With style emulated by millions of women, Carrie Bradshaw has become the fashion icon of our day. Nearly half of this book is devoted to showcasing and detailing the wardrobe and accessories worn by the women in the movie. Full of beautiful color photography, this book does not disappoint visually.
As a complete guide to "Sex and the City 2", the book is also filled with exclusive plot details, interviews with cast and crew, and never-before-told stories about the making of the film.
The emphasis on this book is the fashion; for Sarah Jessica Parker, her character Carrie's outfits are detailed page after page, giving information on the outfits, jewelry, and shoes. The other three stars do not get the same amount of space, which is a shame, because the entire franchise of "Sex and the City" is about the ensemble.
Plenty of other interesting anecdotes though: how Morocco filled in for Dubai, how the set was created for Stanford's wedding, Liza Minnelli's surprise gift to the cast, and how a Times Square restaurant was transformed into Samantha's office. The beginning of the book gives a brief recap of where the characters were at the end of the last movie, which serves as a nice bridge.
The pictures are amazing but I wanted more back stories like the companion book to the TV series. I felt like maybe this was thrown together too quickly just to cash in. But then I loved the movie and this book is a fashionista's dream--a wonderful reference guide to all of its couture fashion--and full of interesting and entertaining behind-the-scenes stories. For anyone who is a fan of the show and its movies, this is a wonderful keepsake.
I've always loved Carrie's style since the first episode. This gives you their stories, fashion style and their adventure.
Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda became style icons the first few seconds of their very first episode eons (lol) ago. I love all the Halston dresses - the short peach Venus dress with the moon and star necklace, the long orange spaghetti strap electric pleated dress, and the long light peach or light pink halter top cotton dress.
I do think its ridiculous wearing Manolo's or Louboutin's while they were in the desert though...
I looked at this for outfit inspiration too. This one is better, because it describes the outfits in much more detail, devoting an entire two page spread to at least half of SJP's outfits and one page to all the rest, but the outfits are not as good as in the first movie or the series, so there's that. The way the outfits are put together in the first movie is more attainable. This one contained more Middle Eastern inspired clothes, which is not really practical for my city life.
I always love looking through these SATC books to see all the amazing fashion choices that I will never be able to pull off ever. Loved some of the clothes in this one and the amazing details of Carrie and Big's new apartment. Guess I need to sit down and finally watch this movie now. Perhaps tonight since I own it.
Its been a while since ive watched the movie and having marathon on its dvds/ vcds copy.. but upon reading it today it always picked up from where it left off. stories, fashion and adventure..
