Buying up her company hadn't been his original plan. But when Texas businessman Ford Langley researched his mystery lover, he discovered Kitty Biedermann was heiress to a jewelry empire ripe for the picking.
It was the perfect opportunity for Ford to move boardroom discussions into the bedroom.
There was just one Kitty wasn't about to fall into his arms and thank him. She was determined to fight tooth and nail for her company—but would she be prepared for his takeover tactics?
I write the kinds of books I want to read. Fast-paced books with lots of world-building, snarky heroines, and swoony heroes. I love story, pop culture, gossip, and baked goods. I’m a modern-day hippy and certified LEGO nerd.
I live in the Austin, Texas hill country, with my geeky husband and two extremely geeky kids. We have dogs, chickens, cats, and more LEGOs than should be allowed by law. Oh, and I stress bake. So if my characters talk about food a lot, that’s why.
Didn't like it, the characters weren't my favorite. Heroine was a bit over the top with the independence by lying about the paternity of the baby. I didn't like hero so much he just kept letting heroine walk all over him. P.

Affair With the Rebel Heiress was a decent read. We have Kitty(the dumped fiancee from Baby Benefits), being likable here. She was raised by her grandmother and a father who loved her but put business first. She was taught to be an accessory, money and her father easing her way and told to find a rich husband to run her company which is failing.
Ford runs a company FMJ with two of his friends(who have their own books) which bail struggling companies. After spending one night with her, he asks his assistant to research her which somehow ends up in his partners thinking he wants to take-over her business.
Kitty has spent her life, acting all flirty, a witch who only loves to spend money but she cares deeply about the company. Throw in a surprise pregnancy and her insistence on saying that Ford is not the father(she knows he's emotionally un-available), combined with her learning disability we have her doing some pretty foolish things like asking a gay guy to marry her.
i like Kitty in this story better than in the baby benefit, in this story, the author put why Kitty behave like that, because her father teach her to be wife for rich man, and to be only accessories. This is because Kitty have learning disabilities, so her father protect her and spoiled her.
I love her because she will do anything to preserve her company intact. i love Ford attitude when he know whats going on with Kitty, he so supportive.
D1990 Jan09 Kitty Biedermann's 5th generation jewelry business in in trouble. The company stock has fallen and the man she was going to marry has married another woman. An unscheduled landing in Midland, TX, results in her meeting Ford Langley. He asks his secretary to find out more about Kitty, she assumes he's interested in Biedermann's Jewelry Stores and gives the information to his two partners. They agree the company is ripe for takeover and go to NYC. Enjoyed the twists and about face of their relationship. Ford and Kitty had families issues that didn't promote trusting relationships.
