The photographer/author team, have collaborated on seven other books on regions of "The Cotwolds", "The English Lakes", "The Yorkshire Moors and Dales", "The Heart of England", "The West Country", "Wessex" and "Kent and the Garden of England" (published in 1995). All these are part of the Weidenfeld Country Series. Providing a survey of England's regional heritage, the book aims to convey the atmosphere of an area, and what its defining features are. It explains the manny diversities of culture and scenery of England.
