A comprehensive, best-selling introduction to the basics of engineering thermodynamics. Requiring only college-level physics and calculus, this popular book includes a realistic art program to give more realism to engineering devices and systems.
A tested and proven problem-solving methodology encourages readers to think systematically and develop an orderly approach to problem
After two semesters of thermo, I would like to bid good riddance to this book for some time. But have to say it did a fine job of developing thermo, and was well written especially with all its bits of extra info, really helpful.
On a different rant I really wish we could use SI units only as the other scales are not very easy to work with.
2 tahun namatin nih buku bikin gw jadi penghuni lab termo. Bagus bgt bt mahasiswa2 teknik mesin yang ingin fokus dibidang konversi energi, buku ini dasar bgt lah. Banyak contoh soalnya dan langsung aplikasinya....
A decent thermodynamics book, though I feel like as an introductory book it doesn't delve into the intuition for some topics as much as other textbooks do. Also, I feel like working through each chapter doesn't help me to self-learn as I go along to figure out how to solve all questions. That being said I think it was clear and easy to understand and I still learned a lot from it. And I liked the diagrams.
Fun fact I had to buy the physical copy of this book for the course, and there was only a loose leaf version available so I had to fit it into two different binders so it's one of my favourites in my collection lol.
I re-read this undergraduate thermodynamics text in preparation for the air-breathing propulsion class I'm taking in the fall. This seems to be the standard text used by students across the country and I was excited that I recalled the material so quickly. Engineering thermodynamics is the study of energy storage, transformation, and conservation in fluids (air and liquids) and fluid machinery. Applications include refrigeration, air conditioning, power generation turbines, air compressors, nozzles and combustion chambers.
