The twist at the end bumped this from 2 to 3 stars for me. The writing is campy and doesn't feel natural at times. The art is nice although at times it is hard to tell what is going on. Overall this is a likeable book and quick to read.
Fun little read reminds me of the "Scream" flicks based on a true story. Story was lite fun, laying clear the structure of a particular genre and competently walking through the tropes. Author provides a summary of the true story at the end of the book, allowing the reader to compare the "story" to the "truth", which I appreciate.
The woodcut style art was an excellent choice for the mood of the story. But for a few panels with confusing composition errors (people that look too alike for me to differentiate, people running who look like they are walking) the art was worth the read.
