Bachelor Auction #3

Passami le redini

Comprato all’asta da una timida pasticcera? Nessun problema.

Oh, my word…I will hand Thatcher the reins any day!

The final brother has fallen. Sawyer, then Huck…and finally Thatcher. Thatcher was my favorite of the three brothers, and I enjoyed his story and watching him fight the fall tremendously!

Astrid, the black sheep of her family, although she is smart, talented, and a good person. I hated how her family treated her.

Thatcher has watched his two brothers fall in love with their auction dates, but he is determined, he doesn't want to fall in love and that shouldn't be a problem since the old librarian bought him at auction. Oh my, what do you think will happen when he discovers he was bought for her great niece…. the kind baker, Astrid.

These two both have issues coming into this. Thatcher doesn't want to feel the pain of the loss of a loved one. Astrid has been betrayed by everyone that was supposed to love her, what will happen when these two get thrown together for a family wedding and try to pass off as boyfriend / girlfriend and not cross the proverbial line. Hmmm…let's see, hot cowboy, sweet baker, fake relationship…what could go wrong?

I have enjoyed watching the three boys fall (with Thatcher being the one to win my heart). If you are looking for a quick, steamy read with some hot cowboys that know what they want and have no qualms getting it, then this is the series for you. Light, easy, sexy, funny, and heartwarming. I recommend the Bachelor Auction Series and this book.

Each book can be read as a standalone although it's more fun to have the backstory in my opinion. A definite recommendation from me!

This has been such a fun series to read. The books have been quick sexy reads. The brothers are all funny but not always smart about love! Thatcher is no exception, he own the local bar and was going to get away this winter by running a friends island bar. Astrid owns a bakery and keeps her distance from her toxic family. When her aunt buys Thatcher for her at the bachelor Auction Astrid ask him to be her date at her sisters wedding. This was a great read. Astrid and Thatcher had great chemistry and great banter. He held his own with her insane family. Vanessa has quickly became one of my favorite go to authors! I am Always looking forward to reading her next book.

This was a fun, quick, fake boyfriend trope. Thatcher isn't looking for LTR and of course Astrid is a short curvy bakery owner from a family of shallow beauty queens. She hires Thatcher to be her fake boyfriend for her sister's wedding. You know what happens next. 4 stars

Neither Thatcher or Astrid wanted anything to do with love but life has a way of changing things when you least expect it. When her great aunt "buys" Thatcher in an auction and gives him to Astrid, she plans to use him as her Fake boyfriend when going back him for her sisters wedding. What starts out as fake, slowly turns into something much deeper. Her family is horrible and they treat her so bad that I actually cheered when Thatcher punches her ex in the nose. I laughed, got ticked off and basically fell in love with this couple. Loved seeing his brothers and their wives. This was a quick read but a very satisfying one

I NEED A MAN

The story is the third in a new, small-town romance—and no, this one is not ménage. It has a great cast of characters, plenty of interaction, angst, issues, and several steamy sex scenes. Thatcher Manning is the last man auctioned at the town Bachelor Auction to raise money for the community center. The running joke among the three Manning brothers was which one will be bought by the elderly town librarian, Miss Turnbuckle.

"Actually, this was good. Fine. I didn’t need any kind of clingy woman thinking that buying me at a bachelor auction was going to be more than a date. I didn’t do attachments. Girlfriends. Long term.”

Thatcher Manning is a man who wants no permanent relationship. He was raised by two parents who loved each other—and even died together. Look where love got them—leaving three boys without both parents. Raised by the family housekeeper, Alice, who now wants to see ‘her boys’ find their happily ever after ending. Well, he was up for the game, but no plans for a future Missus Thatcher Manning.

Astrid isn’t like the rest of her family—she is real. From the town of Cutthroat, about an hour from The Bend—it was where money was at. Her father a cardiologist, her mother, a former Miss Western Montana, and her older sister, Amy, is also marrying into money. Moving to The Bend and opening a bakery was her saving grace—also living near her only loving relative, Aunt Jean Turnbuckle. Astrid isn’t tall and thin; she is shorter and endowed with plenty of curves—in all the right places. Aunt Jean helped her at the bachelor auction by bidding and winning her a date—for Amy’s wedding.

“I was her wingman. Her fake boyfriend. That was all.”

The story’s plot will have Miss Jean Turnbuckle placing the winning bid on Thatcher Manning, but it is to help her niece, Astrid. Astrid is already making the elaborate wedding cake for Amy and Michael’s wedding—but she doesn’t have a date for the wedding—and her mother has already asked Franklin Pierce to fill it—not going to happen. Astrid will fill Thatcher in on her need for a ‘fake boyfriend’ for the wedding—but the plans change—now, instead of one day, it is the entire weekend—Friday through Sunday. Thatcher is a man without commitments but willing to do this favor. He has plans—leaving his bar, Lucky Spur, in the hands of his manager, Kelly, and going to Mexico for the winter to watch his friend, Kent’s bar.

Thatcher: I’m not a good option, sweets. I’m headed to Mexico for the winter.”
Astrid: “Right, sure. Don’t worry. I know the deal. It’s all for show.” “Except it wasn’t real. He’d done what I needed. Handled my mother like a pro. Dealt with Edward. Eddie. Made it very clear we were together. Except we weren’t. It was all fake. His protectiveness. His chivalry. His interest. All of it. Because this was a weekend thing no matter what.”

Wow, no wonder Astrid moved away from her family—they are so arrogant and fake. She is genuine, loves what she does, and accepts life as it is, including her glasses, her size, and her curves. A man like Thatcher Manning is out of her league, if only in her mind. Thatcher doesn’t want commitments, but there is something about Astrid—she is natural, curvy, and hot. Kissing her had both of them melting—and now, during the weekend, they are sharing a bed in her old room, and she lets it be known she wants him—but even at that, her mother is cruel.

“How does she get to spend the night with a guy and I can’t be with Michael tonight?” –Amy
“Because your dress is white for a reason. Hers is gray.” –Mother
Will the simple words of a five-year-old make more sense than what Thatcher wanted?

Claire: “Do you love the lady person who bought you? Daddy loves Sarah and Seesaw loves Miss Kelsey. So you have to love who bought you.”
Thatcher: “It doesn’t always work out that way.”
Claire: “Loving is easy. If you hug them and it’s easy, then it’s love. Even if they go away.”

The story has excellent chemistry between Astrid and Thatcher. They are two people who never met, but once they did, it was on. While Thatcher is insistent he is leaving for the winter, and Astrid just needs a ‘fake boyfriend’ for the wedding—there is an attraction between them. I loved how he was there for her, making her feel beautiful because she is. He stood up to her mother, her sister, her father, and the man who hurt her. Even when she runs, he realizes that he has been running too—and what he didn’t know was that he finally found someone worth running to. But, can they find happiness—was the passion between them real?

“The world could explode, and I’d never know, but I had, because as I came back to myself, I realized the woman sprawled across my chest had changed me. The one thing I knew, that sure hadn’t been fake.”

Thatcher is the fun loving Manning brother. The youngest, he loves his bar and especially loves his family’s ranch. He also enjoys his freedom, the ability to keep things casual with women is important to him. So when the local librarian buys him in the charity auction he is a bit disappointed but figures they can talk books, since she is old enough to be his grandmother. What he doesn’t expect is for her to have bought him so he can be her great-niece’s date to a wedding.

Astrid loves her bakery. She has made a living doing what she loves and is very good at it. She has lived in The Bend for years after leaving her entire dysfunctional family behind. When she needs a date for her sister’s wedding, her Aunt Jean comes through with a date for her, Thatcher Manning. He is perfect to be her fake date, he is gorgeous and her critical family, and ex, may just leave her alone. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be one date has to be an entire weekend, so her fake date now has to be her fake boyfriend.

Within minutes of arriving at the country club for the wedding weekend Thatcher realizes just how much Astrid needs his support. He jumps right in, defending Astrid in the most loving and polite ways that her family cannot easily contradict him outright. The more time they spend together the more they both realize they want to enjoy one another as much as they can. Thatcher finds Astrid absolutely gorgeous, with her adorable glasses, long brown hair and perfect curves, he finds her completely irresistible. Astrid knows how good looking Thatcher is, and once she realizes he honestly wants her, she opens herself up to enjoying the attention he gives her. As things process the reality of how awful Astrid’s family and “friends” are becomes glaringly obvious until all the self confidence Thatcher has helped her gain is undermined in minutes. What follows is a sweet, heartwarming episode of self discovery for both of them, eventually bringing them together again for a happily ever after readers will love!

I fell in love with this series from the previous book. Its such a easy quick read. I loved it.
This time Thatcher is up. Thatcher owns the local bar and was about to be away for the winter on an island. Until the town libriarian buys him at an auction, not what he expected, but hey go with the flow. But low and behold she bought him for her niece… Astrid.

Astrid is the owner of the bakery and she stays as far away from her family as possible. Because who needs toxic people in their lives… Until her aunt Jean buys her Thatcher Manning at an auction for her for her sister’s wedding. And he just what she needs to keep her family off her back.

I loved Thatcher. He was the perfect fake boyfriend. He did everything to defend Astrid against her weird, hateful and snobbish family. I love this type of romance, Hot guy and quiet bookish girl awesome story line. And as you know fake relationship never stay fake for long… 😊 Looking forward to the next story in this series 😊

Hand Me The Reins by Vanessa Vale is the third book in the Bachelor Auction series and it was SO GOOD! Thatcher absolutely delivered! And it was scrumptious!

Astrid is sweetness personified, and I loved getting to know her, getting to see her blossom, and grow into her character. She wants something for herself, and wants to be accepted and loved for who she is, and I just wanted her to get that and loved witnessing the journey!

Thatcher is DELICIOUS. Laid back and cool, calm, and collected, and hyper focused when he sees something he wants, and that absolutely is the darling little baker.

I loved this trope, well, to be fair, I love all the tropes touched on in this book! But fake date and fake relationships with real FEELS? So rich and steamy and DECADENT! And the way that Vanessa writes it with Thatcher and Astrid? SWOONWORTHY. Hands down requires some cooling off and ice cold drinks as the CHEMISTRY simmers and sizzles on the page!

There's drama, there's a whole lot of love to give, and this is one HECK of a ride you'll hold onto tight from start to finish! You won't regret it!

P. S. Adore Aunt Jean, Miss Turnbuckle! Never mess with a librarian!

The third Manning bought at the auction gets more than he bargained for. It was a sure bet that when Astrid’s great-aunt Jean bid on Thatcher the auction would be over because no-one would bid against her. Thatcher was to be a fake boyfriend but things did not turn out as planned. The attraction is strong and weighs heavy on Thatch because he has vowed to never love, fortunately things can and do change. This is an excellent story that is full of emotions, both good and bad, and the connection between them is explosive. This is a fun read that makes you pull for their fake relationship to turn real. Also, the addition of Claire and her perspective on love seems so logical. I loved the story and think you will too.

Oh my lord I hope your ready for Thatcher's book. He's the youngest brother to be auctioned off and well he's going to blow your mind. After being bought by the comunity librarian only to learn it really was for her niece. Astrid only needed the date for her sisters wedding but what she doesn't know that now that she's got a manning on her arm so to say her world opens up to a whole lot of scary possiblies.

Now I've said all this you better grab this book and see what is about to happen. You can read this as a stand alone but what fun is that grab the full series and get to see everything that happens for each brother. I do hope there is more of the manning brothers because they are more than just hot cowboys though don't get me wrong that's a really good thing lol

ARC for honest review with no compensation Received from Greys Promotions

Hand Me the Reins is book 3 in the Bachelor Auction series by Vanessa Vale and here we go again…the final Manning up for auction.

Thatcher Manning, just like his brothers (prior books) is up for auction, doesn’t do relationships and in a few months will be leaving. When he’s purchased by the town’s elderly librarian, Miss Turnbuckle, he thinks he’s home free…except she purchased him for her niece, Astrid. What starts out as a fake boyfriend for her sister’s wedding turns into so much more but will Thatcher stick to his rules of just wild fun, enjoy Astrid for now or will he finally see that the right woman makes all the difference and brings joy and love abound!

It’s Thatcher’s turn and he doesn’t want to fall like his older brothers have. He is perfectly content to taking the lady out that wins him, making it worth her while and then leaving. That is until he sees who won him at the auction and her motivations behind it. Astrid is the black sheep and her family and win her great aunt won Thatcher for her she sees it as a perfect opportunity to get a fake boyfriend out of the deal. Then they both catch feelings but the original agreement was a fake boyfriend nothing more, nothing less. Will this sassy and sweet baker be able to rope her cowboy in?

Thatcher, the town’s bartender playboy, loves to be the mechanical bull at night, giving women wild rides—unforgettable rides. So, when the shy baker, Astrid, buys him at the bachelor auction—yep, the same bachelor every woman’s clamoring to take for a spin—he’s a little confused but more than ready to saddle up and spread her smoother than frosting on a warm cake.

Thatcher's a boob man, and Astrid's got a set that could make a grown man weep, tempting Thatcher. He wants to suck on them, like a newborn calf going to town on its first bottle. Astrid, the cake-baking goddess, needs his help with some family drama. Cue the sweet, frosted-up fake-dating romance at her sister’s wedding. As Thatcher helps her with the mess of her family's relationships, the no-relationship guy starts feeling something new.

When Astrid’s exes show up at the wedding, things heat up faster than a baker’s oven in the bedroom. They leave the kitchen so filthy that the health inspector would automatically fail a health code violation.

Remember, this is a novella, so things move quicker than a bartender shaking up a panty dropper. Insta-connections, high-speed pacing, and enough steamy encounters to keep your heart (and cheeks) red hot. With Thatcher in the mix, there are more happy endings than a baker with a dozen freshly iced cupcakes—every cupcake gets topped with sprinkled pleasure.

I’m currently bingeing Vanessa Vale’s audiobooks like a bartender pouring shots during happy hour—can't stop, won't stop! They’re disappearing at the end of the year, and I can’t let this batch of deliciousness slip through my fingers. If you're a fan of Devney Perry’s and Elsie Silver’s Cowboys but want your novella served with extra frosting and a side of spice, get ready to sink your teeth into Vanessa Vale’s Cowboys!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)
Audiobook: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) Kylie Stewart (She did great! I only wish we had a male narrator to read his chapters. This is me being picky. Lol Duel or Duet style.)
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (4/5) Open Door, Erotica

Thatcher Manning doesn’t do relationships, but he does do fun. When he is “bought” at the bachelor auction by the town librarian, he figures he’ll take the older lady out for a coffee. He soon discovers, however, that he was bought for her niece!

Astrid needs a date to her sister’s wedding, especially since the best man is her cheating ex. When her aunt suggests the bachelor auction, she figures why not! Of course, she never expected to be partnered up with Thatcher!

It’s supposed to be a fake relationship for one weekend. A show for Astrid’s family. But, it quickly becomes more even though both Astrid and Thatcher are terrified of love. Thatcher because those you love leave, and Astrid because those who fall in love don’t always stay in love. What ensues is sexy and sinful, as well as sweet and romantic as Astrid needs someone in her corner when dealing with her awful family, and Thatcher discovers he’s more than up to the task of being the champion she didn’t know she needed or wanted.

These characters were a lot of fun. Astrid was awesome and successful and secure in herself and her body, except when dealing with her family, and I enjoyed that Thatcher continually ran interference for her. And, Thatcher, was a real hunk that realized all too quickly that running off to Mexico wasn’t nearly as fun as it sounded before he met Astrid and started wanting more for both himself as well as Astrid!

I loved how this wrapped up the series with all three brothers being “bought” only to discover they found their real love matches! Claire, Huck’s young daughter, is a sweetheart, and I loved the role she helped to play in each of the pairings. A fantastic ending to a great series of interconnected standalones. 4.5 stars!

“Hand Me The Reins” is the third book in the Bachelor Auction series by Vanessa Vale. I liked the first two books a lot, but I have to say, this one is my favorite. Each book gives us the story of what happens to one of the three Manning brothers when they take part in a bachelor auction to benefit the library in their small town. This story focuses on the youngest of the three brothers when he gets his turn on the auction block.

Thatcher is a good-natured man who own the successful local bar. He is steadfastly against romantic relationships because he has a deep-rooted fear of the pain and loss he’d feel if such a relationship ended badly. Astrid owns the wonderful bakery in town and she has a problem; she has to go home for her sister’s wedding and if she goes alone, her already horrible family will be intolerable. When I described them as horrible, believe me, that’s actually an understatement. The only normal relative she has is her great-aunt, the town librarian. Her aunt buys Thatcher at the bachelor auction so Astrid can ask him to be her date for the wedding. He’s a really good guy and is happy to help her out, but he can’t understand why she’s so insecure about her appearance because he finds her incredibly attractive. When he meets her terrible family it all becomes painfully clear, as does the fact that the ‘fake’ relationship between him and Astrid is the best relationship he’s ever had. Suddenly, he’s questioning plans and decisions he’s been making about his life.

This story manages to be incredibly sweet and also incredibly sexy. Both Thatcher and Astrid have issues to overcome, and they are such likable characters that as the reader you keep cheering them on. If you read the other books in this series you’ll be happy to see characters from those stories appear in this one. I was excited to see Nix and Kit from “Mountain Darkness” make an appearance, too, which was unexpected but a lot of fun. There are some heartbreaking moments in this story, but I promise that the heartwarming feelings you’ll have at the end make it all worth it.

Hand Me the Reins is the third book in the Bachelor Auction series, but could be read as a stand alone. Thatcher isn’t even mad when old Miss Turnbuckle wins him at the bachelor auction, because after all, he’s about to be leaving town. But when the date is really for her niece, Astrid, Thatcher can’t help but want more. Will this wedding date from hell show them that love is worth fighting for, or is it something to be avoided at all costs?

I really enjoyed this story! I liked that both Thatcher and Astrid didn’t want love in their lives, but just could not deny the attraction and connection that pulled them together. Astrid has literally the worst family you could possibly think of, but she was so sweet, so kind, so considerate, and suffered from issues with her self-esteem and self-worth. I loved that she had Thatcher around to help support her, defend her, let her see that she is worth so much more than the crap she’s had to deal with before. Thatcher was also possessive, especially of her boobs, haha, and I loved his attitude both around Astrid and when it comes to love. There’s definitely some drama that happens, between her crazy family and with him knowing he’s leaving town soon, and some major decisions have to be made with both of them before they can face their happily ever after. I really enjoyed reading this book, drifting away into these steamy, fun, and caring pages, and even seeing cameos of previous characters! I can’t wait to see what Ms. Vale is going to come up with next!

The series follows the Manning brothers, Sawyer, Huck and Thatcher are panty melting, Stetson wearing, cowboys. Three brothers, 3 stories, all 3 auctioned off to the loves of their lives weather they want to admit it right away or not. Not all fall into HEA right off the bat but getting there is half the fun!

Third brother on the auction block is Thatcher. He's seen his brothers go down to love, one by one, but he knows that's not for him, love is not for him, but the sweet shy baker who he was bought for has him wanting things he never thought he would, that he won't let himself have. But she needs him to pose as a boyfriend for her sisters wedding. Her whole family is cruel and messed up and has him doing everything in his power to protect her and wanting to claim her. And after he does, he won't let her go.

I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
I’ve read the first book in this series, and I loved it, but unfortunately have been unable to read book two. Now this one is just as good, if not better than the first. I love the bachelor auction and the results of it. All three brothers find their soul mates, in a beautifully written series by Vanessa Vale.
Thatcher is a determined bachelor, until he meets Astrid, a bakery owner. Her aunt has won the auction to get Thatcher as a date for Astrid. Her sister is getting married and refuses to show up alone.
The actual wedding is a total disaster, with hateful, snobby, back stabbing friends a very dysfunctional family.
Thatcher is constantly protecting Astrid from all the toxic people around her, and he begins to develop strong feelings for her. An argument reveals big secrets and Astrid abandons Thatcher at the party, but they reunite again and obtain their HEA.

It's now Thatcher's turn to be bid on and well who bids on him? The librarian and no one is outbidding the formidable lady. He's a bit put out but figures at least they can talk books. Which is always nice, since she introduced him to his joy of books. Only that is not the case he learns that she purchased a date with him for her beloved great- niece. Who needs a date to her sister's wedding, and oh, did I forget to mention. Her great-niece's family aren't the nicest.

What is supposed to be one date turns into more as her family has made it a weekend thing. Thatcher agrees to go as her fake boyfriend. During their time he sees just how toxic and mean they are. Too he gets to spend time with the gorgeous Astrid. Who he thinks is perfect as she is. Despite the plan for things to remain just them posing as a couple. Astrid opens herself up to more. Together they have a chemistry you just love.

Hand Me The Reins is the third Manning brother's book — and it was definitely worth the (admittedly very short) wait! I just adore these fun, flirty, quick reads that keep me thoroughly entertained. While this is the third book, I think you would have zero issues reading any of them on their own.

Thatcher is the fun-loving younger brother who owns a bar and has no intention of ever settling down with a woman. He wants nothing to do with love, even after watching his brothers fall. Astrid is the shy, beautiful baker who bought Thatcher at the auction. What follows is a story where you can't help but root for these two to find happiness.

This fake-relationship romance hit the spot. Astrid's family is… well… something else! And not at all in a good way! It's no wonder she bought Thatcher to accompany her home for her sister's wedding! And Thatch was truly the perfect man to play her fake boyfriend.

I loved watching these two fall for each other, much to both of their surprise. But one of my favorite moments was definitely when Thatcher's five-year-old adorable niece had a talk with him about love. In the pure way only a child can bring, she showed how loving someone wasn't hard. Their conversations melted my heart.

Hand Me The Reins was a heartwarming, sexy, quick read that left me feeling good.

I have been waiting for Thatcher's story. It's not as long as the first two books and I wished it was. But still pretty enjoyable and so much fun.

Thatcher's not one to commit. So when he was bought to pretend to be Astrid's boyfriend, he thought it would be fun. But experiencing her family first hand, he just got a little bit more invested with Astrid and acting as her fake boyfriend. Or maybe it was not fake anymore.

I have loved this series and it's definitely a great introduction to Vanessa's books for me. I'm looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.

I have really enjoyed the Bachelor Auction series, each book is straight to the point no messing about and I think that Hand Me the Reins is my favorite. Vanessa Vale has once again produced a great steamy hot read with a really nice storyline to go with it. The last brother under the hammer is Thatcher Manning, the brother who is determined to stay single, love isn't for him, messing around yes, but love, no. After he and his brothers lost their parents in a plane crash, he doesn't want anyone to get that close. That's all about to change when he meets shy baker Astrid and becomes her fake date at her sister's wedding, the one she doesn't want to go to. Astrid and her family don't get on, she has never fitted into their lifestyle, to them she is a disappointment. Astrid is instantly attracted to the big bad bar owner, but what would he ever see in someone like her.

The chemistry is hot from the start, and Thatcher makes it his mission to bring Astrid out from her shell, but he is determined to keep his feelings out of it, but that is going to be easier said than done!

Thatcher and Astrid’s pairing is my very favorite of this fantastic series! This sweet but also sexy, dirty-talking cowboy is the perfect fake date gift that Astrid could have ever received. For a woman who successfully runs her own business, she has almost no self confidence due to the horrid way her family treats her. But Thatcher is about to show them all how a real man treats a woman who’s not only kind and funny, but also sinfully attractive to a cowboy who appreciates her curvy outside package as well as her loving heart.
I’m sure I sighed more than once at the way Thatcher spoke to, and of, Astrid. While having a reputation as a bit of a player, he’s nothing but honest in his dealings with women. He’s not looking for forever and will be leaving town for a while. But being with this woman that he can’t get out of his head…and who’s slowing becoming part of his heart…might make those plans difficult to follow through on.
Loved this pairing, loved this series and love Vanessa Vale. It doesn’t get much better than that!

When Astrid Lancaster needs a date for her sister Amy’s wedding, Aunt Jean the local librarian wins Thatcher Manning at the bachelor auction for her to take has her date .. but we all know that it is never a good sign when you are surprised by and older woman to go on a wedding date with the local bar owner with the local baker .. fhewwww that is a mouth full !!

You will get your fill when you get the real reason Astrid needs a date .. families are never fun to deal with and with the Lancaster’s they are no exception !! Secrets Secrets are no fun unless they are shared with everyone and ohhhh boy do the secrets get spilled before the wedding ..

Can Thatcher make Sweets his or does she know he is going to Mexico for the winter ?? Can he convince her that he is going to stay for her ?? Can he get over his fears for her ??

Can the Flour Power and the Lucky Spur make a go over of like everyone else form the auction ??

So many doubts but so much LOVE in this book will have you running page to page to get to the next part of the story !! Loved it !!

I seriously love the MMCs in this series - they’re all good guy alphas who are totally gone on the FMC.

This book is about the third Manning brother who is won at the bachelor auction by a curvy baker who needs a fake date to her sister’s wedding. Naturally her family are the worst - with the word count we don’t really care why, but importantly the MMC can’t understand how everyone doesn’t see that she is just perfect. (I just gobble up those sorts of storylines.) There is also some serious steam.

I really couldn’t ask for more from a 3 hour audiobook, and think this book is my favourite of the series.

The sexy redhead! Thatcher is as hot as the color of his luscious hair especially when he encounters the woman behind the woman that bought him. Yup, the auction is over and the last Manning brother has been bought. Is love going to catch this brother? Not if he can help it. Thatch is a confirmed bachelor with a cushy life and no plans to change it. But a little deception goes a long way when it turns out the real purchaser is not the old librarian but her niece. The Bend’s baker extraordinaire and sexy girl with all the curves that drive Thatch crazy. Astrid has an ulterior motive for her buying the sexy cowboy. She needs a fake boyfriend, wingman, wedding date. Her family sucks! But Thatcher is all in to help with the craziness that ensues during wedding weekend. What a mess it turns into with a few surprises and maybe the fake is not so fake when it comes to what’s happening between Astrid and Thatcher. This is a quick read with an insta romance between the self-conscious Astrid and the commitment-phob Thatcher. Their relationship is steamy from the start and the connection is sweet and sexy. He’s such a dreamboat when he defends Astrid and makes her feel beautiful. Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without the wonderful Manning family and friends making an appearance. The best is Thatch’s niece Claire. Love that little girl! A fantastic ending to a sexy cowboy series with hot instant romance and terrific family.
