Gives great overview on the 2 main approaches towards potty-training and highlights pros and cons, plus address common issues such as night-time wetting, accidents and motivation.

According to the author, "crap" and "piss" border on being curse words and are "extremely offensive."

How the Oh Crap book ever got published must be a mystery to her.

This had several methods of potty training that seem pretty good. I like this book for that reason. It wasn't a 'my way is best because' book, it was a 'from my research, here are the different types of training that seem to work for the various styles of parenting.' I found one that will work for me and it says the main part of it is just a couple days. One or two tops. Then after that it's just maintaining the habits and helping the child improve and have fewer accidents. I like that. It combines the strategy of that other book I wasn't fond of with an actual method to follow. So rather than just putting the kid in underwear and saying no accidents like that one said, this one has you put the kid in underwear and then walks you through an actual process to TEACH them how to use the potty. All in all, I'd add this to the list of books every parent should read. This and Baby Wise. :)

So now that I'm ready for potty training, let's hope Maggie is ready soon. This book actually has some advise that has worked although we are still a long way from a diaper free house.

Definitely worth checking out from the library for a decent overview of potty training techniques.

This book is comprehensive as it claims, but this causes it to become tedious as well, and non-enthusiastic.

3.5 stars. A good book outlining the different approaches to toilet training. Didn't recommend or discourage one approach over another. It also included lots of ideas. The parent testimonials were a little braggy, but parents like to do that with this topic.

There were a few grammatical/syntax errors that increased as the book went along. It was a little distracting.
