Janice Jennings refused to be any man's "trophy" ever again. So she hid behind drab duds and thick glasses. And the camouflage worked. Not one man looked beneath the surface to discover the woman inside. Until Mr. Sinclair came along...
Taylor Sinclair was sophisticated, sexy, irresisiible. Janice was sure he'd had his share of beauties, and had broken a number of hearts. But something about Sinclair just didn't jibe. He didn't mind her plain appearance; he wanted to kiss her, hold her, drab duds and all! Once, she would have believed Taylor was too good to be true. Dare she trust her heart now?
Janice Jennings hated her beauty because of her mother. She lost her childhood and teenage years because of it. She lost her confidence in herself as she believed that everyone only wanted her for her beauty, that they only wanted her to be their "trophy". She hated that and hated her life , so when her mother and husband died, she felt free for the first time in her life. She hid behind baggy and loose clothes , and her thick glasses , she was afraid that her past would repeat itself , she didn't trust easily. When Mr. Sinclair broke down all the walls she spent years building, he broke them all. Both of them fell in love , and they didn't know. When they became aware of their feelings towards each other , they never felt better. Though when he sent her the present, she remembered her past, and thought he was lying. Only she didn't remember that he told her he loved her before he saw the real her. She remembered her sorrows . When he arrived at her Boutique after 18 days , in an attire that wasn't his at all , and told her again how he feels for her , and that his only wish is to marry her , she believed him and accepted. It was a nice book , not much of wasted time actually since I had much time to waste. The plot is ok. So I give it 3 stars.
