I follow Natasha on YouTube and love how she makes the construction of junk journals so easy and accessible to everyone. There’s no measuring, there is no special tools, and there are no special materials that she uses, and most of her creations are constructed using things that she has found around her home. I find her approach to be extremely refreshing when comparing to other crafting channels that simply give you a list of new items that you need to buy in order to be able to be creative. I was excited to find her book in my library and borrowed it right away and loved pouring over the pages to see her broken down process of creating a few very special projects. My only complaint is that the book was not longer, but I know that I can always go back to her YouTube channel and look for more inspiration.

This book is packed full of great projects and ideas. My favorite is the Altered Book of Pockets. I made this using an old book that I've been saving and it turned out so cute. There are step-by-step photos both in the construction and how the author decorated it afterwards. I referred to this as I folded and glued mine. I'm very impressed. I like how throughout the book the author uses what she has on hand to assemble these and focuses on upcycling, and I am using the same inspiration. There are more projects inside that I want to try. I recommend this book!

Loved it!

I have been a watcher of Natasha Marinkovic's chanel for many years and was pleased to hear she was finally writing a book. I loved it! Very simple steps. Great photographs. Easy to follow, just like her videos. Reading her thoughts behind what she does and how she came to do what she does was inspiring. I am off to look for a clutch handbag at the secondhand shop. Brilliant!!

I recently heard about junk journaling and was curious to learn more. When I was researching, Treasure Bookmaking popped up, and I knew I had to explore this book more.

This book is creatively genius! I was blown away by the innovative ways that Natasa Marinkovic made journals. She took things I NEVER would have thought to use, like a tissue box, and she made a rather impressive journal from it!

If you are interested in Bookmaking, junk journaling, or anything in that realm, I highly recommend checking out this book before buying any materials. I am sure you will have most of the items on hand and not need to buy too many things to make this hobby a reality.

Love Natasa's YouTube for opening up bookmaking/junk journaling to anybody with scissors, a glue stick, and some cool trash. I have been reading bookmaking instruction books for 20 years, and they generally tend toward art book techniques where you worry about the grain of the paper and sourcing mulberry fiber sheets, and owning a press. This is the opposite of that, while still being high style and satisfyingly creative. Belongs in every public library.

Treasure Bookmaking is a guidebook focusing on crafting handmade sustainable journals penned by Natasa Marinkovic. This book is an excellent resource for anyone who calls themselves a junk journalist. The text is explicit and informative as the readers learns about the art of making homemade journals using everyday paper products. Ms. Marinkovic’s directions are easy to follow. The photographs capture images described in the text. I am please with this book and am adding it to my library.

A low tech, inexpensive approach to bookmaking on a budget using ordinary crafting tools. Some interesting ideas and using scrap or trash materials is kinder on the wallet and environment. If you want to play around with making some odd books, you might take a look at this.

I admit though, I'm more interested in traditional bookmaking techniques.

I happened across this book on Kindle Unlimited and realized it was written by an artist I recently discovered on YouTube. I’m new to paper crafts and junk journaling and this book was perfect to help me get started. Videos are great, but sometimes it really helps to have a book to refer to as well. The explanations were clear, the photos good, and the many projects were very approachable.

Excellent Overview to Bookmaking

Natasa gives a wonderful overview of bookmaking in this book and also lots of great ideas for creative projects. I have admired her YouTube channel and some of these projects have video versions as well for the visual learners. This book is well worth purchasing for those interested in bookmaking.

I’ve read many books on creating journals and this one, by far, is the best I’ve read. It has steps on how to do all the things, but even better are the projects. Renovating purses and wallets into journals is not anything I would’ve thought of. Brilliant.
